It did nothing to show that, Germany and no other country had to win the Brazil 2014. All that it succeeded in doing is to tell us that, Germany won the world cup, and this we already know.
A similar thing could have been done even if another country had won the world cup. For instance, had Portugal or Ghana won the world cup, the emphasis would have been on the country with figure 7 plus 1 letters or 7 minus 2 letters rather than just 7 letters. It is in the same way lotto forecasters are able to brilliantly explain why a number "dropped" but fail miserably in using the same logic that explained why a number came to successfully predict the the winning numbers to come. This is because, no matter how events unfold, there will be one pattern or the other observed in them. All that it takes to detect this pattern in events that have already occurred is to examine these events carefully.
