It seems you are one of those illiterates who prefers to be carrying bus loads of cash around to pay for bread.
The real cause of Ghana's inflation are the huge government expenditures leading to record deficits and the huge supply of money by the Bank of Ghana to accommodate the record budget deficits. Additionally, you live in an environment where every thing is imported and the imports are done in USD, what do you expect? the value of the unwanted cedi will depreciate and that fuels inflation which leads to depreciation. Add the increases in petroleum products, utility prices etc, and you get a clear picture of the causes of the depreciation of the cedi.

Nowhere did this man say the current inflation in the economy is solely due to the re denomination, what he said was the high cost of living i.e. high prices of goods and services...which also contribute to the inflation (inflationary pressure. His take was that, the quantum of price increases are relatively higher due to the fact that people tend to think in terms of the new currency been low not realising it is actually very high. for example, pre new GH cedi, an item due to inflation, exchange rate etc might be increased by about 100, 200 or even a 1000 but nowadays because those units are considered valueless, the minimum increment people go for iwill be about cedis which straight away is times 10 000 of the previous money!!!

The adjustment of prices to the newly designated amounts due to the re-denomination should not take that long to manifest. The effect of the shocks should have dissipated five years on. The effect of the re-denomination on prices is not the cause of current inflation. The real cause are what I have cited in my original post.

You people are shameful twits. You did the same in 2012 and took credit for the implementation of the single spine and campaigned on it telling Ghanaians you have increased workers pay on average 300%.
Now the NDC has turned around to blame NPP for the high government wages because it was NPP that brought SSSS. This is despite in their own manifesto in 2012 in which they took credit for this policy.
