I watched the Gandhi movie starring the British actor Ben Kingsley and learned some two important quotes attributed to Gandhi when he was in South Africa and again when he moved to India that is pure politics in Africa and more so true with Ghana. The people who did not want the Nkrumah dictatorship hypocritically and selfishly did so to replace Nkrumah with another set of tribal cronies, miniature dictators and thieves with more diabolical view of Ghanaians than Nkrumah ever did.
Were those thieves who filled Kufour's cabinet appointments and presidential advisors any better than the thieves under J.J. Rawlings and or Atta-Mills/Mahama periods? I can say, Sarpong is even late in talking about this. Some of us have long been campaigning against the West's blind assistance to Ghana because it makes no sense at all.

There is much logic in what Sarpong has to say, and it beats imagination that some of you try to see politics in it. I can confidently say, if we don't stop they way we reason, we will never have a country worthy of the name for generations.

Politicians have always been our problem and Sarpong seemed to underline that by being poignant about their lack of objectivity since Nkrumah. Much of our problems is also the West which keeps giving us aids when they know our politicians will never efficiently manage anything that comes into their hands, while living excessively above their means. Sarpong's article very veracious, and I hope our people begin demos along that line by asking those foreign missions in the country to take note.

I like the great work Nkrumah did, I like his energy and I am always full of praise for him but he also went in excess of his means at certain particular moments.

This is a very serious issue. How can we keep making these people live like Kings whilst ourTeachers, Nurses, farmers etc struggle to make ends meet?

Vuvuzela, I can pull about five to seven articles where I have been agitating for government to cut down on its expenses to balance our budgets but it seems this administration think it can keep spending money it doesn't have and will keep taxing Ghanaians to balance the budget. Until we live within our means, there would be no hope for this country. There is a limit about how much you can keep taxing people.

What do poor cocoa farmers and fishermen get when they cannot work any more? The coward murderer Jerry Boom abolished "end of service benefits" for workers and took away 27 vehicles when he left office. At the same time 3 trillion cedis vanished from state coffers without trace.

I can bet my bottom penny that in the past twenty years, 60% of MPs, including the ones that have represented my own constituency, have not made more than 10 sensible contributions on the floor of the House, yet all those nincompoops have been paid those ridiculous sums every four years. Where in the world do people get paid those kinds of benefits for doing so little for the people they are supposed to be representing?

Fortunately, the "Development Partners" themselves seem to have wised up to the thievery. What we need is to use the social media to throw out the idiots from power!

Think back, way back where Ghana development was when Nkrumah was deposed by the military. Ghana had an industrial infrastructure manufacturing some of the basic goods for Ghana; eg. the Kade match factory. Who destroyed all those factories including the shoe factory in Kumasi? The salary structure you are comparing, did Mahama set up all these allowances and emoluments for his cabinet or inherited them? I think you are envious of the government in power and you are willing to do everything to discredit it so your party of choice will come to power. Listen, man, I am ashamed of you to suggest to foreign governments to stop aid to Ghana. Your reasons are unpatriotic and only damage further the economic situation in Ghana. Would you live in Ghana and work for the government for how much? Do you expect foreign investors to go to Ghana and invest their capitals to bring jobs if you keep bad mouthing the government and every sector of the economy is demanding more pay and allowances from the government? We as a nation should think about what we can do to bring grace to Ghana rather than preach the doomsday because if your party of choice comes to power it will never change. Think Ghana first. It looks like Sarpong and Okoampah-Ahoofe are doing their darnedest to cast Mahama's administration in bad light. But the blame extends to not only the administration, but also the feckless opposition, the clueless ruling class, the hapless business class, not to mention the ubiquitous and charlatan pastors and imams, and the hypocritically corrupt citizenry.

Blaming Mahama's government is obviously politically motivated. And our donors would be daft to get involve. Might find alternative means to assistst the needy in Ghana.
