Fortunately, the one who can get only the votes of the floating voters cannot even get the chance to lead the party. Thus the only sensible thing to do is for the one who can get the votes of the floating voters to join hands with the one who already is assured of the 5 million votes to secure victory for the party. If not you should all forget and we would continue to be in this wahala.

What the NPP is doing cannot be compared to any Swedru declaration by former President Rawlings. With that declaration there was no contest. However, in the NPP, there is competition. So if you cannot even get the support of your core party members, how can you think of your even getting floating voters? This issue of one candidate being able to attract floating voters is a myth. If one is loved by floating voters, then he should equally be loved by his core party members. We are voting this time based on economic issues, challenges, and competencies. If we are not going to do this, no matter who you bring, then NDC will still win the elections hands down. However, if it is on the contrary, you can be sure that whoever emerges winner in the NPP primaries is most likely to take it.
I like Nana's campaign and his team because they are acting in a more matured manner than Allan's people. While Nana and his team are focusing their steam on John Mahama and his administration, Allan's group is rather targeting Nana Addo and his people. By doing this the latter group is destroying the party and that is why they are even losing the support of a majority of the party members. If they have too much money to spend go ahead, I assure you that people will collect and chop freely but will not vote Allan since they have already made up their mind for Nana/Bawumiah.
So please rather campaign well and stop complaining about any non-existent Swedru type of declaration. People are very discerning and would not swallow the contents of the "book" written above to discredit Nana Addo.

You missed the point of the article. First it is describes as the NPP's own Swedru Declaration and so should not be the exact same as the NDCs. It is the outcome however, the suppression of frank debate that is at issue. 2 defeats and no one anywhere has called Nana to account for why NPP is losing even in its core strongholds (I notice you do not tackle this)

Second Nana and Kufuor both lost internal primaries so please the focus on internal primaries is not an issue (unless you think that once someone gets his hands on the flag bearer post it is his for life as the article states!)

I have a feeling Nana Add o will win the nomination and, as predicted in the paper will lose the general election. It is here that the NPP's problems will commence. Perhaps it is for the best given Nana feels he was cheated in 2012 any other candidate will not have peace. Best to let Nana go, watch him lose, and then the party can start to rebuild without him being an issue.

As for me, I don't care about NPP or Akufo-Addo. And I don't care a hoot about NDC and Mahama. I've seen that both parties are not doing the best for Ghana but have managed to do the best for themselves as individuals of the ruling government (and opposition MPs).

But if I see a well written argument in beautiful language (none of that Okoampa type) I gasp in wonder at my fellow Ghanaian and I am filled with pride. I think this article, too long though it is, makes me smile contentedly. The writer is mature, knows his stuff, well educated and talks sense. And he writes well - not two ways about that!

Those who say the article is stupid are, themselves, the stupid ones. What they should do is to mount up arguments against Kwabena and express those arguments in equally good language. If they can't, then they should, at least, desist from insulting the writer.

As an NPP outsider, I, too, see that Akufo-Addo is the number one problem of the NPP. It is bad that we should come to a situation in which one person so totally dominates a party as Rawlings did with NDC. This is not good for the country as a whole. It is not good at all.

But as for me, I will not blame the party elites as Kwabena does. I will blame Akufo-Addo himself. The man just doesn't know when enough is enough. He said he is intending to stand because of the great pressure on him to do so. Na big lie!!! No great leader can act under pressure from the self-seekers surrounding him. A great leader should see beyond that and say NO! I won't stand no matter what you say. I will rather supervise a great change of candidate and help the party to win the next elections WITHOUT ME for a greater party and an even greater Ghana! But Akufo doesn't say that. He agrees that it is only him - me, na only me, me me me meee... Why should a party's fortunes turn on only one man?

As for me, I am praying that he wins his party's nomination and loses in 2016 by a clear and clean majority even if NDC is not doing well presently. After all, we all know that NPP will not do any better either. We have Kufuor's example to go by.
