Money laundering can also be use as a way of evading taxes. To transfer such money from the nation to other country without securing the proper documentation on it is illegal and a crime it doesn't matter if you gained the money legally or through hard work.
Your questions in paragraph 7 God please; Does someone need to cry of their money missing to constitute a money laundering? Yes according to the report he forged documents. Doesn't matter who's money it's ( read about ownership of money).

I say this because, it was an Ewe-man, General Akwasi Kotoka with a bribe from the American CIA, ended his life. Those who know this truth can testify to this fact. These supposedly now Ghanaians, have become more than a curse than a blessings to traditional Ghanaians who owns almost 60% t0 70% of the land. If Ewes do not know where they originated or migrated to their present settlement(s), I guess I would take the time to painstakingly do that.
The Ewe people were neither from Akan-land or from Yoruba-land as Historians may have coined or made us to know. They were rather influenced by both tribes. Geographically, they were divided by Benin and Togo, western and southern respectively. They were colonized by the British and was known as British Togoland. However, after the defeat of the Germans in World War I, French Togoland became Togo and British Togoland became Volta region which subsequently has become part of the new Ghana. So those Ewes, who think they own Ghana and continue to develop that culture of hate and division among us as a people should remember that, it is easy to destroy than to build and that, they would be at the wrong side of history should there be a civil war in Ghana as it stairs us in the face. Someone may ask, why I am saying this? And I would say, this is what hate breeds! Because the hate time bomb from other tribes towards all Ashantis is ticking and Ashantis would strike at the right time and this is what is going to lead to a civil war in Ghana. If you think I am lying, go back to the library and study how civil wars are stirred up in most African countries and for that matter, the world. By the way, if I may ask, Ewes, who made you guys ruler over us?

Adofo, I am shocked at what you just put out here. Your Article does not even show you have the relevant facts to determine whether this case is eligible for classification as Money Laundering. You cannot just rely on the Dictionary definition alone to determine whether a case is correctly charged with a crime or not.

The legal definition of a particular crime could differ in depth and reach from what a dictionary meaning of that crime is. An Act that is considered a crime must satisfy a certain definition as provided by the Constitution of the Country applicable.

While the definition of a certain Act in the dictionary may be too narrow to satisfy such a criterion, in some cases, it could be too broad. If such an Act is not considered a crime by a Nation's Constitution, it does not matter what it means in a Dictionary.

So, you must first check to see if the accused really committed any infraction of the Ghanaian Constitutional definition of Money Laundering. Such a definition could be the same in other Countries for that crime or differ somewhat.

Meanwhile, you did not provide any facts related to the case to show any difference in what the State might have charged the accused of, and what you know the accused claims to his version of the facts. We must all remember what one US Congress person once said. To paraphrase that assertion: "one may be entitled to one's own opinion on a case, but one may not be entitled to one's own facts related to the case". What you are doing is preemptively claiming discrimination against the accused even before the case is heard in Court. That is preposterous, dangerous and unpatriotic.

I used to follow you closely on your numerous commentaries on the Kumawu Chieftaincy case, in which you've been attacking the Otumfuor immensely for his role in trying to settle the case. But this piece you just presented here has eroded much of any credibility I had for you.

Your Article has a certain twinge of bigotry in it that I'd rather wish Ghanaians paid attention to, and because of which they ought to reject your claims, at least, until the case has been fully adjudicated upon. You must really not turn each and every case into some political football, and, worse still, an ethnic discrimination. You have concluded that there is some ethnic discrimination in the Government's attempt to bring this case against the accused. How do you prove that? How many such situations as the accused is charged in can you cite with other Citizens of differing ethnicity from his that never got charged?

If we keep claiming victimization like this for every case, without presenting facts to prove it, we would eventually not be able to curb the rising criminal behavior in our Nation.

What if Ewes claim that Woyome was particularly singled out to return his Judgment Debt because he happens to be an Ewe? What if the GYEEDA and SADA Corruption suspects claim we are hunting them for prosecution just because they may be non-Akans?

And should we expect Mahama's Administration to refuse to prosecute any of these suspects, in the face of ample Prima Facie, becaue they may be Northerners as he is?

Meanwhile, the fact that some Ashanti Businesses might have been treated unfairly in the past by J.J.'s Military Administration, does not mean future NDC Administrations ought to spare any Ashanti Business that may be breaking the Law. The most important thing we should be concerned about is whether some other Business owned by some member of any other ethnic group or Tribe committed similar crime and was not prosecuted.

You are only instigating Ashantis to blindly mob-protest this case before it is even called up in Court. What a shame! You live in London, UK. How many times have you seen folks claim ethnic discrimination against them in criminal charges just because they are either Welch or Scottish?

If you have any evidence and reason to protest any such cases in the past, go to the Court to have them overturned. We would support you if you can prove it.
