Thanks you very much, Kobina. I get very infuriated when I read or hear stuff like the one you're saying was written by the physician-scientist. I ask the question whether the US (or the West) owes us a cure of a disease that is killing us. What steps have we taken on our own to find a cure? All we like to do is to blame others for our own self-inflicted failures. It is so unfortunate.

Some of the monies that wrongly end up in private pockets can be utilized to develop drugs, build hospitals and a better health care system and also give better education to the children who will be our future leaders. If we cannot do these things, we have no one but ourselves to blame.Greed and mismanagement of public funds are costing us a lot.

Mr. Baidoo, I wish every African politician, especially those in areas hardest hit by Ebola, would answer this simple, but thought provoking question.

Phil, as a fan of yours am a bit disappointed that you were a bit selective in your assessment of Dr Brimah. The same doctor said"As a molecular scientist and a physician,Iam confident that with very little funds I can purify ZMPP" serum molecular antibodies for public use in 3 months" Do you think, this encouraging aspect of his article was not fit for us to read? You should also bear in mind that, whereas America was getting rid of Nkrumah as a dictator, they were actively giving General Park{dictator]of South Korea all the financial aid, technical support and construction of industries in that country.A stable but authoritarian regime from 1961-1988.We will appreciate a more balanced view.Nevertheless, thanks for lambasting our venal politicians.

Great piece. Sadly people choose their leaders and in the land of the blind the one eyed giant gets to rule. Leadership without wisdom is a disaster for future generations. Sadly, in Ghana like most African nations, the one eyed giants seem to always gain the upper hand and destroy the future of a whole generation of very bright and productive people. We have ourselves to blame. The solution i propose includes a complete re education of the next generation from kindergarten through college. The education must be based on a solid foundation of ethics, integrity, respect for human dignity, and reward for verifiable creativity and entrepreneurship. We currently have a terribly weak foundation and we cannot build a strong structure on it unless we rebuild from scratch. 2 cents

Ghanaba, I think, I did mention the fact that he said some things that I agreed with. And of course, that is the reason why I gave the link in order not to clutter this piece. Anyway, thank you for not roasting me entirely.
