Kumasi international airport is submerged. Accra - Nsawam -Kumasi Road is out. Surprisingly, Mahama then tars an obscure 6km Bremang minor road and lambasts Kumasi citizens of not being appreciative of his efforts.

In the not far distant memory past people of the Ashanti tribe could not understand the two edged sword politics by tribe and or a government by tribal preference brings to bear in Ghana. There are those who may dislike what I say in my write ups because I intend for them to bite those who survive and promote tribe or political party over nation.

Is there anyone in Ghana of competent mind and thinking who can deny that under J.J. Rawlings, by fair or foul means, most Ghanaians perceived Ewes to have had the best under the J.J. Rawlings administrations? Is there any denials that when Kufour was in power all government preferences went to people of the Ashanti stripe? I remember people warning about a scholarship fund engineered by Kufour but administered through the Asantehene on behalf of government for the post secondary education of mostly Ashantis during the Kufour era. Not to mention the fact that under Kufour’s government, civil service agencies were encouraged to hold some ministerial meeting in Kumasi to help local industries with revenues such meetings brought in. If any of these sound familiar why then would you John Yawose think everyone in Ghana on tribal binge should have short memory span as to let sleeping dogs lay asleep?

Ghana and Ghanaians must love nation first and unbeknown to us equity and parity will become a norm; until then payback is a bitch and we will all live to regret our political practices.
