Mr Haruna, are you still an appointed officer at the NPP Headquarters and if not, why do you still have Otiko's protest letter to Jake with you? Is that how thing are done in Ghana? The letter is a property of NPP and should remain on file for future references and not your private property. In fact, neither the author (Otiko) or the recipient (Jake) has no right to keep the letter. My advice to you is to take it back and hand it over to the appropriate official to be filed at NPP Headquarters.

Kofi, technically, you are correct. But if Haruna, at the time, had any reason to be a whistle-blower, as may now be the case, he could risk keeping the copies to prove his case, damn any eventual personal inimical consequences.
This is because such controversial documents could easily be discarded by the culprits in Office before any case could be brought to Court by the Whistle-blower. Most of the time, shredded documents evade consideration to establish their existence.
It would then be the responsibility of any adjudicating body, should the case appear before it, to decide whether or not the whistle-blowing has any merit that over-rides the right of the Party to invoke the legal breach of trust by Haruna for keeping copies of something belonging to the Party.
The same situation applies to both Otiko and Jake. Your advice that Haruna takes the document back to the Party for storage presupposes that the Party would keep it safe to be made available when needed to settle an affected dispute. Good try. It is not that simple. Haruna may well have only copied the letter, leaving the original intact at the Headquarters. He may want to send a copy of what he has to the Party to help settle the current dispute, even in the face of the possibility of the Party charging him with illegal possession. But if his action produces an avenue for the Party to arrive at a fair resolution, Haruna's breach of the Party's right could be a blessing to it than a curse and could have him go free.

Kofi, one more thing I would like you to consider is that if you ever encounter a situation that personally involves you within an organizational setting, Corporate or Government, I would admonish that you do exactly what Haruna did, IF YOU CAN SAFELY DO SO, to possibly protect yourself from any future entanglement that could ruin your life.
Many documented cases have occurred here in the USA where Companies willfully, deliberately shredded evidence that they knew could be used to prosecute them. And they almost always got away with serious crimes.
Such cases include torts, serious criminal cases that involve fatalities, huge financial misappropriations, discrimination, etc. My experience with these is that when there is no documentary proof of the evidence that defies other forms of proof the culprits are spared, and victims go uncompensated or without due justice.
So, we must all learn to protect ourselves and interests first. Many Corporations would let us fry in such circumstances if the culpability could be pushed over unto our laps.

Someone could have been killed for something that seemed to have had a precedence set by the same side that was protesting it.
Now, what would the NPP leaders say about the right of Afoko and Agyapong to change Staffing at the NPP Hqtrs.?
If there is any higher committee sitting to sort things out, it should be presented with this evidence formally to help it make the right decision.
Would this revelation make Kennedy Agyapong eat his words that he attacked Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong with on this issue?
It would be interesting how the NPP hierarchy rules on the case, or comments on this revelation. My guess is that it would try to suppress this new development under the guise of keeping all quiet within the Party...Shhhhhhh! No one is now supposed to wash the Party's dirty linen in the Public. Yeah, now that the damage is done against one side of the duo factions.
God bless you
