  We jump on anyone who seems to have an independent brain to think outside the box.
  
  You asked if he doesn't respect his elders at home but has it ever occurred to you that respect is earned and that it is also reciprocal? Respect goes both ways. It's not a one way street.
  
  If you are not an NDC foot soldier or goon, tell me in all honesty, one single thing that these leaders have done that showed any respect to the average Ghanaian and ,therefore, deserves a respect in return.
  
  Mr. Adams is very right on all points raised and it's not a matter of disrespecting anyone.
  
  This is democracy and if you don't like it, too bad. He has the right to express his opinion under the constitution just like you.
  
  That "YENTIE OBIAA" mantra of the NDC is what has killed and is still killing Ghana. So allow people to speak and better still, listen. You just might learn something if you don't become prejudiced by political colours and label all divergent views as anti-NDC.
  
  Some of us don't give a shit about NDC or NPP or any other thieving political party. We only care about GHANA and that things are done right to benefit all Ghanaians and not just party supporters or sympathizers. Ghana is for all us, so we "swim or sink together" as the saying goes.

I don't know what kind of political lens you were but the deputy minister in Kuffour and Rawlings administrations were way way better than substantive ministers in Mills/Mahama and Mahama/ Amissah Arthur regimes. Tony Aidoo, a senior member of the NDC was a deputy minister in Rawlings administration. Nana Bri-Boahen, O.B Amoah and K.T Hammond thems all were deputies in Kuffours' regime. so why comparing apples and oranges?

  I read the article with trepidation as I do because people in Ghana still do not understand why we have been so wrong for years. A country that will rely on help from outside its borders for a lifetime is a nation that will be enslaved in the nearest possible future. Ghana is barely hanging on an economic life support system because of our majority educated class who have received some education, lived, worked in developed nations yet came back to extract as much benefit from the system they left behind even as they impoverish the nation.
  
  Can you John Kwame Adams name anyone in Ghana's class of educated and political elite class whose work product is directly proportional to the official and unofficial compensation they get from the Ghana government? I can give you a list of ill effects on the economy and the living standards of the average Ghanaian brought on by those very folks any day. There has never been a year in the history of a given Ghana government makeup where there were no appointees with education, training and work experiences from abroad and yet there is not a single government Ghanaians have been proud of. That tells me that a blanket assumption that there is some reserved knowledge out there to save us is a fallacy that we must let go and do a good job with home grown people with morals. Those from outside tend to know a whole lot about personal wealth to match their acquired taste in life they cannot sustain upon their return to Ghana unless by foul means.

  Nkrumah's ministers were not the most lettered, but with patriotism, they achieved a lot between 1957 to 1966 for the nation.

  I read with passionate zeal and digested your uncharacteristically Ghanaian analysis of presidential appointments with relish. I have often wondered why in the abundance of "water" we choose live like we are abandoned on a God forsaken desert.Our Presidents don't realize their decisions, good or bad, affect millons of lives. Unfortunately they see the power to appoint as opportunity to extend or return favors to people not deserving of them in the first place. So, we end up with quacks, pretenders,you name them but all square pegs in round holes.When people are dying of cholera, malaria, etc these good-for-nothing hirelings are amassing wealth through corrupt deals and shopping for designer clothing and shoes for themselves, family and girl friends. There is such a rich pool of well qualified ghanaians spread all over every corner of the globe who can deliver and one is lleft to wonder why they are never on the radar of the appointing authority. Buddy, you owe nobody any apology because most Ghanaians with their heads screwed on tight will agree with everything you're saying. Ghanaians deserve better than being shortchanged by people we entrust with our destinies through the ballot box. What would West Africans have done with the ominous threat of Ebola had the civilized world not intervened? The whole of the region would have been turned into a huge graveyard. What have we been doing all this time? So pathetic, to say the least. Thanks, bro.
