Why not involve chiefs in our quest for a cleaner environment?

  The chiefs claimed their part of the government and deserve the donated trucks, with that being said, I agree with this writer, the chiefs must step up and encourage people to clean up their surroundings.

  In modern day Ghana, who cares for the chiefs word. Come on, only the Asantehenes comments are recognized in this time.

  The current practice where newly inducted doctors called house officers with no experience whatsoever are left to experiment with (attend to) serious medical cases while residents, specialists and consultants are away must be put to a stop immediately. There must be at least one specialist present 24 hours in three shift rotations to supervise them. Our health system as it is presently is not the best. The situation in the countryside and rural communities is even worse.

  It is time we amend the 1992 Constitution and allow our chiefs to play some role.
  Culturally, socially, and environmentally I see them playing significant roles that would make a great difference in the development of our nation. We have to consider the fact that our chiefs today are well educated.
  
  With the revival of the Asafo system and Ohene police, they stand the chance of assisting to administer at least the rural areas.
