HOW CAN A POOR COUNTRY LIKE GHANA TOLERATE SUCH WASTE....NO WONDER BLACKS WERE SOLD AS SLAVES...WE ARE IRREDEEMABLY STUPID INDEED....just read this nonsense here....Some private cemeteries charge between GHC26,000 and GHC36,000. The cheapest you can get at other private cemeteries range between GHC2500 and GHC3500. The difference in prices depends on the grave and the location. If you are buried in a place that cost only 2500, then you were probably a pauper when alive or your relatives are lightweight!

A thought-provoking article. I don't think a Christian can go into such a business because how can you pray for people to die so that your business will prosper? That will not be fair.

The current practice where newly inducted doctors called house officers with no experience whatsoever are left to experiment with (attend to) serious medical cases while residents, specialists and consultants are away must be put to a stop immediately. There must be at least one specialist present 24 hours in three shift rotations to supervise them. Our health system as it is presently is not the best. The situation in the countryside and rural communities is even worse.

The kind of vulgar consumerism that is currently going on in Ghana is alarming. Everybody is trying hard to get rich - by any means possible. The politicians are in the lead of this mad race. That is the main reason they're all fighting for political power and office.

The worst of this is that the rich flaunt their wealth in the midst of abject poverty surrounding them. They live in mansions and ride their huge cars thru filthy neighborhoods that are among some of the poorest in the world. They don't even feel ashamed.

Even when these filthy rich die they still want to "continue living" in riches in the here beyond. That is why private commercial cemeteries are thriving.

Our priorities are completely misplaced!

I'm really interested in this business. However, but, getting familiar with the industry needs better connection with the rich and wealthy. I doubt the average Ghanaian will pay such an amount for a burial.

In fact, the private cemetery business is booming in Ghana. However, I wish Ghana practice the cremation of dead bodies to save lands.

Indeed the body does not experience " rest in peace" A country with so much money, so much talent, so many opportunities is driven by a few terrible leaders and the rest just sit somewhere complaining and don't even try to make a change. Everything in Ghana today is business. Nothing can be driven by the government and succeed perfectly. Here there is even no such thing as a private cemetary. Everything is taken care of by the government. Families go constantly to see the graves and drop flowers and candles. The whole place looks beautiful and the government takes care of the enviroment. But go to ghana even someone sleeping on a grave! eh i hope that is not still happening. The graves there seem so scary and look so untreated.
