That build strong nations and now we all want to be there. Do you think you can get anything cheap there? No !! But its worth it right? Compared to mother Ghana. True leaders in Africa are a failure bit all hope is not lost. If you come don't think you will get it easy, nooooo, its the mindset that's important. That am going to stay and overcome......make a change, influence my people with the knowledge I have acquired. Most people have successfully relocated and making it big...don't sit on the fence and look down on all others cynically. Ghana and Africa still has a lot to offer

No one expects a red carpet to be rolled for anyone returning home from abroad. The article is all about the realities of relocation. People don't leave their countries of origin to go and have fun in other countries. It's all about seeking better opportunities which invariably leads to supporting relatives back home. Nobody expects to be treated as royals just because they have travelled overseas. Re-read the article for a better understanding of Kwesi's arguments!

Sure, Brother Kwesi, we need eveyone on board to develop the country. Mutual knowldge of the Ghanaian at home and the Ghanaian abroad (and mutual trust) is a priceless ingredient for collaborative success.

I have said a few interesting things about SANKOFA in my next two articles "Ghanaian Politics Trapped In A Pandora's box." I sumbitted them yesterday and hope to see them published today or tomorrow!

Well written piece with obvious truth on pertinent issues, but the diasporean is partly responsible for his woes. Some come home with some airs around them, giving the impression that they are from a land of milk and honey and that they have forever said good-bye to poverty. They feel elated when they are hailed as “been-to’s”, and that goes with those demands Prince is talking about. Also just because you’ve lived and probably got educated abroad doesn’t automatically qualify you for a job in your country. The local regulations are there, if you follow them well you’ll be able to get what you want. Of course, there are very serious problems at home but they affect every Ghanaian, the one coming from abroad not being an exception.

Effective healthcare should be the real issue for the returnee.

Most plan to return as retirees, at ages when diseases crop up stealthily.
And even if one plans to make frequent trips overseas for comprehensive checkups and treatment, certain clinical events might preclude air travel.

Even the relatively healthy "senior citizens" might be exposing themselves to deep vein thrombosis and the deadly pulmonary embolism from the long flights.

So diasporans need to consider investing in Ghana's healthcare system for their own sake.

This can be accomplished in various ways: "adopting" a clinic or a physician, sending critical instrumentation, financial sponsorship, or even starting a healthcare business that is well-equipped and hires top-notch medical specialists.

We hear some diasporan physicians in Germany are planning to setup their own specialized care centers in Accra.

Unlike today's great technological advances and major accomplishments in the physical sciences, medicine remains complex and largely underdeveloped, and it takes more than superb knowledge. Effective medical practice today relies more on advanced diagnostic devices, sophisticated biochemical tests and intricate procedures. This is where diasporans can help.

You may have invested in a mansion at East Legon, and might have even saved a fortune by renting to a wealthy multinational company. You may be receiving your decent social security payments, plus a hefty pension annuities. Your children might have completed their Ivy League education abroad. All your basic necessities have been secured. Yet, without the availability of, say, a computerized tomography angiography device somewhere, a hidden blood clot in your body would never be detected until it kills you!

We really need to consider supporting Ghana's healthcare system.
