  I think it's the culture of journalists to think they're above the law and that people must respect them and put them on a pedestal, and so they don't think that people have the right to challenge them if they are wrong.The arrogation of a veil and shield because one works in a press house must be demystified.
  
  I wonder whether there is a professional code of ethic governing the profession in Ghana.The standard of journalism is very low and the academic level even lower so most of them do not understand what they themselves write and the implications.
  
  There are some fine journalists in Ghana and it is their duty to bring their colleagues up to standard.The timeless values of journalism ethics means updating and upgrading them.
  
  Technology and changing markets present new situations where journalists face ethical choices, and journalists need to update to apply to these tools and circumstances.
  
  Some of these unethical practices have undermined the cherished principles which journalists need to strengthen these guidance for journalists if they want to uphold these values.Some prominent citizens have spoken out on this topic lately and the profession should take note of these suggestions before they do irreparable damage to their profession

  The writeup presupposes that it was some big secret in Ghana about the rich and famous and their insatiable appetite to stay on top of their game forever by selling their souls to the devil to do so. Is there anything more damaging to a politician than asking a direct question of him or her of a supposed corrupt and bribery accusations? Should we expect our politicians to have family around to brutalized those who dare ask questions of them that might be damaging?
  If the Gyan brothers were smarter than the money or the fame they seek and fancy they could have given wise, intellectual and proverbial answers to questions from the press no matter how irritating and offensive. But then this issue goes to show the utter shallow intellect of our rich and famous

  We need journalists just as much as they need us so there must be some level of tolerance and consensus building from both sides. That said, it's important to acknowledge that some journalists are very rude and crude in their interaction with members of the general public.
  Many of them function without the ethics of their chosen profession and constitute a nuisance that must be avoided at all costs. Many are of the belief that it was the intrusion and harassment from the paparazzi that caused the untimely death of Princess Diane. Apart from following the ethics of their profession I also wish while they're pursuing the demands of their profession they will follow the Golden Rule and treat every man they meet the way they would want to be treated. Courtesy begets courtesy.
