Asubonteng, Appiah's dismissal, crass, tasteless and wholly unprofessional as it was, points to one thing, football is a business that demands immediate results....provide the higher ups with victories and you are the poster boy for all that is good and dandy....fall short of their expectations and you are instantly crucified and denigrated as Appiah was......
Let's assume however ruefully that if the Black Stars had managed to earn some victories in Brazil, Appiah would have been the toast of endless parties in Accra and beyond.
I don't subscribe to the much maligned notion that blacks are in awe of whites which sort of explains the rationale behind the employment of the Serbian coach....Appiah did not produce when he was required to and painfully as it was, he had to go as per the GFA...it is a lesson to future Ghanaian coaches of the national team.....motivate, guide and soothe the egos of your players and downplay that tribal sentiments...

AA is not good enough,the incompetent GFA were wrong to hire him as the BS coach in first place,he has no previous experience in coaching yet they hired him as the BS's full time caoch, wrong move.

A guy was standing in a bar when a stranger walked in. After a while they got to talking and at about 10:30 p.m. the second guy said: "I better get home. My wife doesn't like me to stay out during late night." The first guy replies: "I'll help you out. Just do what I say. Go home, sneak into the bedroom and pull back the covers. Get down between her legs. Then lick, lick and lick for about 20 minutes and there will be no complaints in the morning." The guy agrees to try and continues drinking with him for two more hours before heading home. When he gets home, the house is pitch black. He sneaks upstairs into the bedroom, pulls back the covers and proceeds to lick for 20 minutes. Afterwards he decides to wash his face. As he walks into the bathroom, his wife is sitting on the toilet. Seeing her he screams: "What the hell are you doing in here?!" "Quiet!" she exclaims. "You'll wake my mother."

If this occurred in other countries, Appiah, the technical team and GFA, would be dismissed. That is how the soccer business is run these days. Produce results or you are gone.
