What exactly does Bokor want the African First Ladies to do, tuck their tails under their skirts and scurry from the limelight?

Their proximity to the center of political power obliges them to take on issues that their husbands won't dare touch with a ten-foot pole.....to raise awareness about the many problems of poverty and disease and educating girls confronting the African continent......they are also able to bring their influence to bear on world leaders, the international donor community, international NGOs and many other western aid agencies to help solve some of the aforementioned problems.

Bokor's misgivings about the United Nations remind me of the abuse and character assassinations the international body took during the tenure of our own Kofi Annan. Much of the criticism directed against the UN was calculated to discredit its efforts to bring some semblance of sanity to a chaotic world, but moreso, because they could not stand an African heading the international organization.....strangely, the Republicans have been silent since Ban K. Moon assumed the mantle of leadership....the snipping has stopped.....

Bokor may mean well, but his excoriation of the African First Ladies and the UN is grossly misplaced...and absurd.

I wished he had added Mahama's name among those African Presidents that can't keep their zippers up. And also could remember that Botswana is not Malawi (about the 3rd time, he had got it wrong). However he was right on that stupid association of 1st wives of Africa.

Ask yourself, why not the association of 1st wives of European or Caribbean or Americas or Asian Presidents? Because unlike the African 1st wives, they are focused and know their functions as 1st wives in their home countries. They pick one problem in the society and try to find solution to the problem till they leave the scene.

Take for example, Michelle Obama, who told her to focus her attention on Child obesity with her "let's move?"? Who told Nancy Reagan to focus her attention on drugs with her "Just say NO?" Why then should Ist wives of African Presidents be given assignment on something like HIV/AIDS. What do these ladies know about this disease? Is not the reason why she could not even read from what was written for her? Or, is it also an opportunity for them to chop some with the funds they receive from the donor countries?

Lordina is everywhere. She is champion for every cause in the country. Today, she is here championing the cause of witches camp. Tomorrow, she would be here championing the girls' education. The next day, she would be another place fighting illegal adoption. And another day, giving figures on HIV/AIDS she hardly understands. Guess, it would have been great she really understand what she is doing and trying to end the problem. But she does not. All that she does is to go there and become a Santa Claus to them by donating rice, sugar, salt. How could a the 1st wife go to the witches camp and don't close it but donated rice to them. What is she telling them? Idiocy at its best.

If we as Africans want Female ambassadors to speak on world issues on behalf of our various countries, why dont we choose ladies who can at least speak good english for people to understand instead of these semi illiterates. ...
