John I think the phrase By-heart should be used as urban Language. But anyway, if the NDC are claiming glory for the Cedi's appreciation against major currencies, it is because they are behind the steering wheel.Likewise they were blamed for the Cedi's dwindling effect.

Whether it was Dr. Bawumia's sole recommendation for IMF assistance or not is yet another debate. Methinks that the Senchey accord had actually helped in the economy taking a positive outlook.

I really do not think the economy was managed poorly. There are certain factors that you have consider before concluding on the poor management of the economy as you drew conclusion from Vladimir. One factor was the waste in the Pink Sheet issue at the SC. This was unfortunate even which took place soon after elections. It is actually one Gargantuan causative Factor.

Another which I solely lay the blame on the greediness and wicked agenda of the Opposition was their campaign to KILL CONFIDENCE in the economy.

In fact these two observations were actually in a Macro-economic level killed everything. Others are normal micro-economic problems which every economy is faced with such as the Trade Balances and the Global melt down which took a ripple effect.

Have we put the four zeroes back?

The problem was that there was too many cedis in the system due to the government printing of more cedis to meet its daily obligations and the recent selling of one billion dollars government bonds and the two billion loan facility to buy cocoa has led the government to pump more dollars into the system.

The problem was simply due to demand and supply. There was too much cedis chasing fewer dollars and now that a lot of cedis have been pumped to the system, the problem is easing.

Another problem was also due to the stupid government policy when it made a law restricting how much people can take from their own dollar account. It led to flight of the dollar from the system.

The moment government realized its stupidity and repealed that law, the fall of the cedi slowed down and eventually started going up again.
