It was during the not too inspiring Kuffuor years that Ghanaians at home were quick to boast about the new and prosperous nation to their friends and family living in the US and other parts of the world. They will often say with a sense of pride and enthusiasm that "Ghana has become more like the US" in the sense that every shopping item in the US markets and malls could at last be found in Ghana. Then Mills became President and everything changed. Since those memorable years everything gone from bad to worse under Mills and Mahama, making the future look even more bleak in outkook. The government was passed on from Dumb to Dumber in 2010 and all hell has broken loose. God save Ghana. What can dumb and dumber do for you? Disappointment,Despondency, Disillusionment, Dishonor and finally Disintegration. God forbid ! ! !

Alex,
You have systematically elaborated what Ghana is going through under the present leadership without sounding or coming off as partisan.
In all seriousness, there's no better way to put it than to come out openly and say that this government has been a total failure.
There's no governance in actual term of the word in anything under this leadership.
The president seems so perpetually lost like a kindergarten kid on his first day of school.
He is so confused his actions look robotic. He is in the midst of unheard of massive corruption and he acts like he doesn't know what hit him.
The last two paragraphs of your piece captured the hopelessness of this leadership better than anyone else has been able to put into words so far:
"No serious caring leader, wanting to leave a meaningful legacy for his people can afford to engage in such a dormant attitude towards the looting of the state and still be enjoying a good night sleep everyday in the face of steady decline in the fortunes of the nation’s economy unless the person had been overwhelmed by his job."
"The government must know that we are fast losing all our farmlands and water bodies because of the illegal mining activities across the country but again the government looks on helplessly. Why? When will the government live up to expectation? The good people of our country deserve better".
Ghanaians should chew on those words, put all political affiliations aside and go deeper into their souls and ask themselves if this is what they think Ghana deserves.
If they should come out with a "NO" then the next logical question will be is the NPP the answer? The answer to that will also be a "NO" because these two parties are one and the same. They only fly different flags but the modus operandi is the same for both parties. They are both corrupt and don't have the welfare of Ghanaians at heart. Their common goal is to pillage and plunder the wealth and the riches of the nation to enrich themselves, families and cronies.
That's the gospel truth and don't be deceived if anyone tells you differently. Tell that person to take a hike.
So that brings us to the crux of the matter and that is:
How about having a third option to vote for a third lesser known political party which will do a better job of governing our country without the shananigans(corruption, thievery, selfishness, tribalism, hooliganism, etc) of NPP or NDC?
This country is not matured or ready enough politically to stick with a two-party system because as we've seen already that breeds corruption, ethnocentricity, partisanship and a lot of other social ills and political mediocrity.
So why not give a third party the chance to showcase what they can also offer Ghana, instead of the same two corrupt and non-caring parties?
The choice is yours so as caring citizens who want the best for yourselves, kids and the future generations, why don't you use your vote judiciously and put your nation in the caring hands of a third party which can take Ghana places instead of the rut we've been in for three and a half decades?

Boss, i agree with you, but i lets not forget that we as people of Ghana lack the ability to think. Ghanaians care more about buying holy water from TB Joshua thank challenging the corruption in the government. Listen to our radio stations, all the focus on is...Kwame has used juju on Ama to have intercourse, or mame water has taken castro. We are primitive beings and are not yet ready. Ghanians dont have the mind to question Mahama as to how the brother own planes!!!! why woyome is still walking free drinking beer and why asantehenes' royal gold gets stolen when he travels abroad. We just don't have the mental capacity to ask those critical questions. We are a third world. Dont blame the president too much, lets ask ourselves some candid questions. You believe in Duncan williams and TB Joshua dont you? there you go..... hahahaha. We need to some soul searching. No wonder we can write books in ghana, no Ghanians have not contributed anything to the world through research. We believe everything was created by TB Joshua. I tell you what my brother, I read somewhere that Ghana is only good for its sex tourism.

You seem like a person of a million contradictions and you know why? You call yourself 'Prophet' yet you think and believe all those so-called "men of God" you mentioned are like the chewed gum you got stuck under your shoes.
Perhaps this is the first time you've read a comment of mine in this forum or else you wouldn't even mention those names here.
I will tell you what I think of those people who call themselves pastors, prophets, prophetesses, faith healers and all that bullshit. If I had my way, I would have them all arrested, put them in straight(strait?) jackets and throw them into jail, throw away the keys and forget about them.
In my view, they are worse than armed robbers(just like our politicians). They are human leeches who suck the life blood out of the gullible fools we have roaming on the continent of Africa in general, and Ghana in particular, looking for solace in the spiritual sense, from fellow men who can't even tie their own shoe laces, let alone being in commune with God.
That's a hoot... isn't it?
Just for your information, I don't believe all Ghanaians lack the ability to think or else you and I wouldn't be communicating right now. This right here is your proof that some of us can think and therefore, ask pertinent questions.
One thing I can say though about us is that we are naturally very peaceful people and we hate to make waves and that's why a few corrupt politicians who by virtue of their positions take undue advantage of us.
I think that's what you are misconstruing as lack of ability to think. Am I right or wrong, Prophet?
I grew up in the Nkrumah era so I saw and experienced some of the best things our country could and can offer. My family was poor yet I got one of the best education anybody can offer.
I like to have reasons for everything because my education made me that way. That's why I like to ask for the rationale behind every action taken by people especially if that action is in one way or another going to affect my well being and those close to me.
So I'm forever going to question the actions of the politicians back home why they do certain things. My questions my not be answered but having people like you reading my thoughts can and might change some other people to begin asking questions too and start holding their leaders accountable. Might be just a drop in a bucket but one never knows, right?

I have always been saying that ndc is not a political party. It is a SATANIC cult forced on us by Afari dwan and Atuguba and any Christian that joins it is a hypocrite.
