Whoever he has always supported, whether it is Alan Kyeremateng or a Dr Bokor, nothing prevents Mr Kufuor (or any other person) to abstain from a vote in a democracy. It is a constitutional right. If I were Mr Kufuor l wouldn't have given any reason for my decision. But he's not an ordinary citizen. He's a former president (a very able one with matchless tone and temperament) who's conscious of - noblesse oblige - and for that reason felt he had a duty to inform his party and the nation why he's staying away from the election. It's your right, Bokor, to read whatever meaning (cowardice and hypocrisy) you like into that. In the light of the acrimony and bad bold within the NPP, I see Mr Kufuor's decision as an act that could only come from a very wise, mature statesman.
