Why should a case be dismissed just like that, why wasnt the evidence heard. Please all this lays a bad foundation for all of us. It has a dangerous trickling effect. I donot belong to any faction but by what I have read and heard many people, both learned and ordinary say, an injustice has occurred. When it reaches the tipping off point, we may not be able to trace it back to all these. Remember, the battle of the Guinea fowl did not just start with the that innocent animal. I have watched with extremely keen interest, the unfolding of events related to the Kumawu chieftaincy affairs following the demise of Obarima Asumadu Sakyi. It is extremely sad to watch different royal families tearing themselves apart in front of the whole nation, with no reprieve in sight. The name of the Asantehene has been dragged through the mud with accusations of bribery and corruptions all over everywhere. As an ordinary citizen of Kumawu, I believe that the town deserves much better than this unmitigated self-destruction being meted out to them. Of all the narratives written here for the past several years, not even one, has suggested any amicable solution to this chieftaincy impasse. They have all been attempts of accusations and counter-accusations directed at each other, with no solution in sight. Even if one candidate is crowned today, this infighting will replicate itself over again with the death of the chief or the queen in the future. I don't see any end to this conundrum the way this issue is being tackled. The Supreme court is now involved but that is not a guarantee for the future peace in Kumawu. Now here is my solution for this chieftaincy issue.
I propose that all the royal families should have a binding pact witnessed by the Asanteman Council that will rotate the kingship among the families. In a situation where you have multiple families with claims to the throne, no one family should be entitled to rule forever. This is the cause of the whole problem we have here in Kumawu. My understanding is that only one family has ruled in perpetuity since the dawn of time. There is no way we can maintain this status quo for eternity without causing serious unrest within the royal clans. I am not for or against any royal family but common sense dictates that :"adidigya ne muna na 3nam". We can negotiate our line of succession now or embroil ourselves in endless chieftaincy battles for generations to come, all to the detriment of the people of Kumawu. The people of Kumawu are not stupid, and all eyes are watching.
I welcome any sensible counter arguments and contributions to this opinion. LONG LIVE KUMAWUMAN

The Ananangya/Odumase folks migrated from Essumja under their leader Adofoahyee who chose to leave "home" after he lost the contest for the Essumja throne to Nana Kwaku Gyebi Kankanko.
Their settlements included SEBEDIA > ADANSE AHENSAN > PENIMASE > ABODOM > TIKROM > ABIRA > APEMSO.
Apemsohene Nana Kofi Siaw gave them protection and final settlement. Adofoahyee's mother Maame Senifontom died at Apemso and Adofoahyee borrowed some decorative paraphernalia from Apemso palace which he refused to return upon demand Adofoahyee and his men used the occasion to stage a coup d'etat against The Apemso royals. Nana Kwasi Aboagye who succeeded his brother Nana Kofi Siaw died as a result of the barbaric act by The Ananangya/Odumase folks. The Ananangya/Odumase folks crowned themselves as rulers of Apemso. This is how their royalty began at Apemso/Kumawu. They crowned themselves, not God.
What did the Apemso's do to deserve that kind of treatment from the people they (the Apemso's) have opened their arms to welcome? Will God reward them for such treasonable act? Hmmmm, SE ONYAME ANSI WO HENE NA WOFA AHENKYE HYE A ESO WO KWA. They were cursed by the household gods and ancestral spirits of Apemso and the curse still persist. Check their track record and see for yourself: untimely deaths, Death of the KUM tree; The Okotere Fenini and The enchanted bull of Asanteman which led to the loss of Banda war; Instability on the throne averaging four years and they are destooled.
Nana Kodua Kokoo in his wisdom and trying to find solution to the tragedy befallen on his family consulted the oracles and consequently brought in a mediator in the person of Maame Ayo to be integrated into the family which eventually led to the Ankaase royalty. Calm and stability returned to the throne and the community at large. ALL MAJOR DEVELOPMENTS : Scools, electricity, water, roads, clinic, district headquarters etc all happened under The Ankaase royals.
This is the reason I warned John Fosu, now calling himself Adofo Rockson that the kettle cannot tell the pot that it is dark. We the people are aware and sick and tired of the litigations which they have resorted to in order to halt the popularity of The Ankaase royals.
How could they blame Barima Asumadu Sakyi II for underdevelopment when he spent more than thirty years of his reign in the courtroom? Adofo Rockson is living in London with his family and trying to incite us to kill each other, for whom and what? What contribution has he made to the community he profess raised him? What have we gained from the forty years of litigations as far back as YEATEASEM era? Abject poverty ans lining the pockets of lawyers; this no go happen again. WE NEED DEVELOPMENT, NOT WAR; CO-OPERATION AND DIALOUGE, NOT LITIGATIONS. Adofo talking about bribe? He should come down to Kumawu and find out for himself than being dependant on falsehood and half truths. Krontihene got a car from The Ananangya financiers to allow Joe Fry and his cronies to invoke Otumfour's great oath to twart the installation process of Doctor Yaw Sarfo as Kumawuhene; this is no secretin Kumawu and her metropolis.
Any attempt to derail the enthronement of BARIMA DOCTOR...... will be resisted fiercely. The stool is not returning to the cursed people; NO, NOT AGAIN,PERIOD! We have suffered enough under them with their endless litigations which Joe Fry has kept as a paid job, hence the beautiful house he is enjoying. WE BOLDLY SUPPORT NANA SERWAA AMPONSAA AND HER NOMINATION, DR. YAW SARFO. With God's grace, we shall overcome.
