  It is totally unacceptable to tag the NCCE as a sidekick of the EC,the author ought to know that the two bodies have different mandates, it is thus either mischievous or out of ignorance. It will help when people criticize constructively instead of berrating national institutions. Question is have you ever tried to even find out what the NCCE is doing& what you can do to help them function effectively? It will surprise you to know the sacrifices these organizations are making, indeed I can say with authority regarding the NCCE that they staff are sacrificing a lot. Finally you should avail yourself with the NCCE dialogue series, an initiative aimed at engaging,educating and empowering Ghanaians to actively participate in governance. This is quarterly event that brings resource persons to engage & educate Ghanaians on the functions of state institutions to empower citizens to engage these institutions. These events are broadcasted live to reach a greater audience, so please help the institution do more, if you can't at least don't destroy or help destroy the it.

  The voice of dissent against the EC is turning from the original cacophony to a harmonius crescendo but since the commission was established under constitutional provisions there isn't much we can do about the EC as it's presently constituted and introduce common sense electoral reforms until we've fixed the flawed constitution itself.
  Our path to constitutional democracy was not paved with roses. It took a lot of prodding and arm twisting from both local democracy advocacy and pressure groups and political and economic pressure from the Western powers to brow-beat an intransigent military administration under Rawlings leadership to finally succumb to the wishes and demands of the people. Let's not forget that majority of the Constituent Assembly members that put together the 1992 constitution were hand-picked Rawlings' faithfuls whose selection was purposed to facilitate a Rawlings friendly constitution.
  The constitution we have today was flawed from the beginning but 22 years after becoming the law and basic principles of our nation it has not seen any significant changes. Successive administrations have stuck to the original constitution because of the advantages it gives the incumbent president and his party. If ghanaians cherish our freedom and a peaceful and progressive Ghana then we must fix the broken system, ie. the constitution first, and then the Electoral Commission and the entire electoral system. It's better to be safe than to be sorry.

  Why has the word transparency become the buzzword with everyone in Ghana especially political wannabe who have not known the virtues of being principled?
  Is there anyone in Ghana who can give examples of transparency at work in the UK, USA or any civilized, industrialized western nation? In each of the Western nations we adore and wish to emulate, transparency, if any, exist because of effective, efficient institutions and the respective staff with love for country at those government institutions. Democratic systems of governance exist in those nations because of effective institutions that are accountable and do provided service for the citizens and or residence in those nations.
  What has transparency got to do with blind Ghanaians everywhere in Ghana who see or hear no evil? If card-carrying members of Ghana's political parties have opted to accept all things as good if effected by members within their beloved party then when is evil truly evil? From the time one walks through the gates at Ghana's Kotoka International airport to arriving at their destination they are greeted with structures that are much to be desired but which have passed and gained approval from the Lands Commission and inspectors at the various government institutions. Are those unsafe structures not transparent enough for us?
  
  We have electricity rationing even as the low lifes at the ECG drive around in expensive Toyota vehicles with A/C's at full blast even when they cannot collect past due bills and or monitor illegal electrical connections. Transparency will not save Ghana; it is effective institutions with dedicated staff that will do the trick
