Truth hurts BUT needs to be told: The day that Kumawu sunk was when The Ananangya / Odumase folks from Assumja under their leader Adofoahyee plotted a coup d'etat against The Apemso Royal family, killed and maimed these very royals who had welcomed and protected them, ie. The Ananangya/Odumase folks from Assumja in their land. These folks from Assumja crowned themselves rulers of Apemso (Kumawu) which incured the wrath of the rivers, mountains, oracles and the ancestral spirits/ souls of Apemso (Kumawu). These folks from Assumja were CURSED; the spirits brought to mind The Akan adage:"YENNTENA OBI SERE SO NA YEN NSUM NO", meaning, You don't push away a person on whose laps you are sitting; that will make you fall as well.
The living also rebuked the treasonable act against The Apemso Royals and were victimized; the first was the then Krontihene of Apemso Nana Adomakopim and his family from Adanse, the first group of immigrant welcomed to Apemso for protection by Apemsohene Nana Kofi Siaw. It was the same Nana Adomakopim who introduced these folks from Assumja to Apemsohene Nana Siaw as his (Adomakopim's) kinsfolks before Nana Siaw granted them protection and stay. They stripped the Krontire title from Nana Adomakopim for rebuking them.
The then Apemso,(present day Kumawu) stood toe-to-toe with Kwaman, (present day Kumasi).
Apart from the untimely deaths of these folks from Assumja, Apemso suffered a great loss of becoming the capital of Asanteman due to the death of the "KUM" tree, hence 'kum-awu". That of Kwaman thrived and under its shade people rested, hence"Kum-ase".

Asanteman lost the Banda war due to the act of the then Kumawuhene from the Odumase family called Okotere Fenini who was appointed leader of the Asanteman contingent. He offered his own "daga"/knife to kill the enchanted bull which was under a spell to win the war.
Okotere Fenini was saved by the promise made to Kumawuman due to the ultimate sacrifice Barima Tweneboa Kodua made to Asanteman. For his punishment, he was immediately destooled and his lineage BANNED FOREVER by The Asanteman Council from ever being enstooled as Kumawuhene. That is a typical sign of a cursed group. Joe Fry who is championing the litigation acts which has crippled Kumawuman is from The Odumase lineage. It was Barima Otuo Acheampong of blessed memory who created The "Adunahene" stool for that family in order to accord them some form of recognition. Their powers were limited to that family alone. I remember Nana Oduro of Yaadwaase (Nananom Apemsofo), challenged the authority of the Aduanahene because he, Nana Oduro and his family were also Aduana and it is an established fact that they, The Yaadwaase family are the descendants of Nana Akyea Kwaffo, the founder and originator of The State of APEMSO.
Barima Otuo Acheampong therefore clarified the reason and the limits of the new stool he has created for his cousins within the Odumase family.
The less I write about the attrocities that befalls on The Ananangya folks who mounted the stool, the better. They average four (4) years on the stool and are either destooled or terible calamity befalls them. You don't have to be a student of Kumawu history to acknowledge this; we are all living witnesses to that.
NO MAJOR DEVELOPMENT HAPPENED UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF THE ANANANGYA/ODUMASE FOLKS. Well, Nana Seth from Ananangya could point to The Kumawu Post Office as his achievement during his 4 years reign before he was destooled.
I can go on and on but will limit myself due to time constraint. Be it known to Rockson Adofo and his cronies that GOD DOES NOT REWARD SIN; man proposes and God disposes; it IS GOD WHO APPOINTS AND DESTOOLS KINGS so if they profess an iota of love for Kumawuman, then they should learn lesson from The Yeateasem era; despite all the resources at their disposal, they secumbed to Barima Asumadu Sakyi II. The opportunity cost of that lengthy LITIGATIONS is The Abject POVERTY and UNDERDEVELOPMENT that has engolfed Kumawuman; yet they turn around to point same against Barma Asumadu's administration. Soon after mounting the throne did the Yeateasem saga started over 1.5 million cedis paid to the stool (part payment). Instead of guiding young Asumadu and settling issues among the family, they chose the courtroom to wash their dirty linen. At the end of the day, it was the lawyers who benefited. If the Omanhene spend all his time and money on litigations, how do you expect good leadership with positive results for THE PEOPLE?
On this note We The People WELCOME BARIMA SARFO TWENEBOA KODUA (DOCTOR). We wish him well and pray for God's guidance: that He The Almighty God bless him with wisdom and humility to serve and lead the people entrusted in his care. Let us ALL eschew and burry our differences and rally behind him, so that at the end of the day, we all reap The Fruits of Love and Unity. KUMAWUMAN NKWASO!!!!

OMANBAPA KD your reply to Onua Adofo Rockson is very educative. Even though I am not from Kumawu area by birth but I have been following the events unfolding at Kumawu for a long time. At one stage I became worried by the dirty linen which was been washed by John Fosu and had to advise him to go to Kumawu to face the Queen-mother instead of hiding behind computer to write whatever came to his head.
The issue of chieftanship has stalled development at Kumawu. I think every one should pray for peace and God's grace for the Chief.
I wish to know more about the events that you summarised as a reply to the write up of Rockson, if time will permit.
Anyway I am elder from Bremang (Kumasi) by birth but have been away for a very long time.

I've been aptly following devts in this chieftaincy saga, as time permits me, because of my own vested interest in a similar dispute in Anlo and, above all, as a matter of academic interest in reforming the institution.

You didn't dwell on whether Dr Yaw Sarfo was qualified by lineage and royal descent to be nominated. We all know that many royal families, esp. in Asante, had lost the right to rule in the past, for one reason or the other. It'd be a revanchist action of restoration if Dr Sarfo is from such a royal background, not just an impostor as is the case of the impostor Patrick Agboba who was born in a village in the Logba area near Hohoe now parading as the Awoamefia of Anlo.

A compromised action could have been reached which allows for nomination from both royal families to contest together or in alternation.
