  I think you are a very classy lady judging by this piece and the previous pieces of yours that I've come across.
  
  Most educated men felt like hiding our aces and bowing our heads in shame on hearing what came out of.the so-called "man-of -God's" mouth during one of his 'sermons'.
  
  Although, it shouldn't have come as a surprise knowing who it was coming from.... a person who courts controversy and uses that the bane of his 'stock in trade'.
  
  In my opinion, that was the most vile pronouncement accredited to this buffoon who calls himself an "archbishop" and it doesn't matter if this 'dead brain' pronouncement has any biblical leanings.
  Using very antiquated quotes from the old testament to relate to life in this modern age is not only moronic but also downright derogatory.
  
  The world and life in itself have changed a whole lot since that book
  was used as a yardstick to judge lifestyle in one corner of the earth where such particularly pointed quotes are even now frowned upon but we as gullible Africans/Ghanaians think they are still in style, adhering blindly to them and screwing up our lives for the sake of being Christians.
  
  Even Christ himself was a women's rights activist/advocate... remember Mary Magdelene's case where she was despised because she was thought to be a hooker? This woman became Jesus' friend to the point that she was part of the "previleged" few who witnessed Jesus rise from death on the third day and ascend into heaven.
  
  So who is Duncan-Williams, who in my opinion, is not even fit to clean Judas Iscariot's dirty sandals, to castigate our womenfolk all in the name of "putting them in their place" and dragging them into the gutters where he used to live and probably still lives, once he takes off his expensive clothes, jewelry and the other good things he possesses, courtesy of his very gullible followers that he has scammed over the years using the bible and the pulpit as fronts.
  
  
  Every woman across the nation and beyond our shores should have felt 'assaulted' and demeaned by D-W's assertion that marriage should be an "all-is-well-that-ends-well" approach to a woman's goal in life.
  
  In this day and age when we have women scientists, doctors, engineers, pilots, astronauts and what have you contributing immensely to the world in their various fields, and this "poof" thinks he's is right to tell women to consider marriage as their ultimate goal in life.
  
  What a jokester of an "archbishop"!!!!
  
  Marriage should be left as personal and individual choices for both men and women. Nobody should be forced into a marriage... not even by parents ...let alone self-styled "experts" who themselves are no good role models for the institution of marriage.
  
  More especially, no woman should be forced or "convinced" into a marriage because we still have the antiquated "brain fart" that that's the woman's place and that's all that she's good for.
  
  If any man feels that that's all what his daughters, sisters and nieces are worth, then by all means let them listen to that quack of an expert but I'll bet that most of our womenfolk are a whole lot smarter than the fake who sits on his high puritanical horse and spews out all that BS every Sunday.
  And for Christ's sake, no one should think that because it came out of the mouth of D-W, it should be a 'cookie cutter' formula for all and sundry.
  
  "In the land of the blind, the one-eyed person becomes the king"... it is said... but remember that in this case not everyone is blind.
  
  There are young and well-educated women like Lydia Forson who is neither blind or deaf ( no disrespect intended for those afflicted with deafness or blindness)and scores like her just waiting in the wings to let the "fakes" living in our midst know that they are not going to have a free ride with any nonsense they feel like unleashing unto the general populace.

  I particularly do not understand why most women after reaching some age feel ashamed of not being married. They spend most of their time at prayer camps fasting and crying for what I see as not worthy. Most end up with men they are just not meant for them because they were too desperate. It's time single women appreciated who they are and be concerned with how to make life pleasant for them than looking around for husbands.

  The crux and thrust of the message " it is a privilege to be married. It's a privilege in the time in which we live in its seven women to one man" is totally degrading and dehumanizing.
  
  According to him, we live in time when every marriage now must be defined by seven women to one man. Anything below that is not qualified as marriage in the time we live in. That is why a woman must be thankful and feel privileged that his man, who by decree of the time we live in, to marry seven women, marries only her must perpetually be thankful probably regardless of what the man does thereafter.
  
  There is no law in our country decreeing that a marriage is defined by seven women to one man. Meanwhile saying that the bible said so means nothing in our generation. A book full of superstition and ignorance can not be our guide except to those whose brain it crucifies.
  
  So there is no "if" wherein Duncan Williams could ever become correct with this sermon. And the disparities in population, indicating clearly that women are than men can not be used either to attempt any defence. Marriage, if it was compulsory in the past, then it is certainly no longer that in our generation, independent of its importance to society.
