  Our current constitution was made to protect one and only one person and that is JJ "Rawshit" Rawlings. Why? What is the meaning of the "Indemnity Clause" in the constitution?
  
  That said, Burkinabes are fed up with Blaise and the only option let is to embark on the protest which eventually yield a positive result. If any leader in Ghana tries to overstay his term in office, by cunningly twisting the laid down procedure in the constitution, something which I think will not happen, Ghanaians will look for a remedy.

  "Constitutions are sacred documents. They should not be amended lightly. Where amendments are desired, the processes that the Constitution mandate should be followed to the letter. Any deviations are impermissible."
  
  Well, Parliament didn't reviewed the current 1992 constitution but a committee appointed by one man - the then President Mills, and the invested resources and results are ready and pending.
  
  
  The question is what should become of the CRC recommendations/95 amendments/report that's pending?
  
  What's your view, should the country write a complete new constitution, amend the current one, or implement the CRC report in totality?
  
  Would requirement of super-majority clause feature anywhere in the soon to be amended, or the soon to be written constitution on material issues like budget, and finance of political campaigns and what have you?

The Executive initiating constitutional amendment is dangerous and what happened in Burkina Faso is the danger that Ghana should learn from and avoid. Is this what you called myopic analysis and interpretations? Why did you fail to put your accurate analysis and interpretations? It's easy to criticise and condemn but not easy to forward original ideas.
  
  Today, Ghana may have Mahama but tomorrow it could a Comppaore or Obasanjo type who would attempt to change the constitution and remove the two term limit and rule as long as they want. That is the danger.

  What happened in Burkina Faso was an uprising by the people in the face of the president using his majority in parliament to change the constitution to his benefit.Apart from raising a conflict of interest issue,it was a blatant attempt by the president to perpetuate himself in power without a realistic chance of change.
  
  You can't compare and equate that scenario to that of Ghana because of our history.You must be forcing an analogy that is completely unimaginable in Ghana knowing our level of political awareness.more so there are checks and balances in our constitution which completely blocks the president from changing the constitution without a referendum especially in the core areas.

  So the Burkina Faso constitution allowed Blaise to do what he did quickly dissolved the constitution to create that space. He knew what he was doing against the people of Burkina Faso. The tyrant indirectly told the people that if you don't like me deal with the chaose. By their constitution therefore he may not have violated it at the time he took that action. The military also took the staled opportunity to game on the people. We are yet to see how they resolve this constitunal crises.

  The name of the country is Burkina Faso. You can shorten that to just "Burkina". The people of Burkina Faso are refered to as Burkinabes (plural) or Burkinabe (singular).

  I agree with you there are plenty of lessons to be learnt from Burkina Faso or the Burkinabes. Mahama and the NDC will be well-advised to avoid a "Burkina Faso" in Ghana!
