From my recollections the stakes for the two traditions Nkrumah and Danquah had been evenly contested in that region and half of the region had remained loyal to the Nkrumah tradition to date.Go to to Manya or Yilo Krobo and tell them that they are from the Matimehu stock and see what will befall you.
More importantly there are areas in Kyebi who had remained loyal to Nkrumah.You may recall that Danquah was beaten comprehensively by a CPP candidate in Danquah's backyard so stop peddling lies about the greatest African of all time and the great CPP and parties of that sock and tradition.

The Eastern Region you knew is now heavily populated by settler farmers and farm workers from the Volta, Northern and Greater Accra regions. The same situation is in some parts of the Ashanti, Central, Western and Brong Ahafo regions.

Who cares? We have to quit this nonsense of tagging modern Parties with dead Parties of old, even if the new ones claim to be incarnations of any old, defunct ones.
Voters should only judge existing Parties by the caliber of leaders they have and their integral strategies for developing Democracy and advancement on all fronts of our human endeavor.
It is not the theoretical ideological claims by any Party that will save Ghana and lead it to real progress. It is the quality of leaders and their achievable visionary goals that we must be looking at.
As many and I have said earlier and elsewhere, if we do not break from this crappy, murderous UP-CPP partisan nonsense, our Citizenry would grow increasingly fractured along dangerous fissures that permanently deny us any chance to catch up with the developed World.
We should ignore the notorious, recurrent invocation of old UP-CPP score-settling in choosing who deserves our votes. We must show the vengeful paleolithic shady politicians, like this Professor, that we belong to a different era of refined Politics where crudity and sheer trashing of opponents just so the perpetrator would look relatively better does not work with us.
This 'PHD' (Pull-Him-Down) behavior by these political dinosaurs, with no transformational vein in their bodies, to claim a relative superior image does not present any provable better alternative agenda for our Nation's success.
The truth about our current Political Parties is that none is a Communist or even a Socialist Party like in the Cold War era. And none can claim to be a purely Capitalist Party that could ignore the collective Social responsibility to the very poor and rural folks, or a Socialist one that could be providing every basic need for the Citizens and dictate to them how and what the Citizens should be doing to earn a living or create wealth.
History has emphatically and undeniably shown that wiser successful Political leaders have blended certain levels of Welfare programs with Capitalism to suit their Nation's immediate Social and Economic needs, and vary their proportions over the years according as the Economic situation has been for the Nation.
