YOU ALSO MUST HAVE PROPERTY TAX FOR LAND/HOUSE/CAR/TRUCKS/BOATS!!!!...REMEMBER THESE PEOPLE CAN LIE NO MATTER THE REQUIREMENTS BECAUSE THEY ARE PAID CASH! mORE MONEY CAN BE TAKEN IN BY MAKING SURE THE BIG PEOPLE LIKE MAMAMAS FREINDS AND FAMILY PAY THEIR 28% TO GOV FOR INCOME TAX!   It is a lousy, anti-democratic "Republican" idea/ploy, to link taxation to "elections".

  Where are the incentives for these informal people to pay taxes in your proposal? In America where the tax system is very efficient, the tax system ensures that people who pay taxes can benefit from social security and medicaid benefits during their retirement years. Any tax policy to include the informal sector in Ghana without perceived incentives to the sector will therefore not do.
