"Mr. Baani's example need not have gone any farther than Northern Nigeria, Ghana's own West African neighborhood"
Please Dr. Okoampah-Ahoofe kindly explain the difference between farther and further.

Thanks Ahoofe "Where the Daboya/Makarigu NDC-MP erred was not to have been ratiocinatively balanced and fair-minded enough to have also reversed roles for the two main genders. In other words, how about cases where the female main breadwinner - or proverbial pants-wearer - dies and leaves most of her wealth or property for the inheritance of a husband who had also cheated on her with other women and out of which adulterous affairs or relationships, in several cases (as is known to be quite common in our kind of society and culture), had resulted in the births of several conjugally illegitimate children?

I beg to differ with the author of this article. There is a clear distinction between church and state, and the Honourable MP's sole in parliament is legislation. His personal opinion on moral issues belong to the confines of his home.Parliamentarians are not in the business of righting what is wrong in marriage, that belongs to churches. This is why we do not get married in Parliament, but in churches/places of religious practice.
Any utterances from MPs or those in positions that affect legislation have consequences reaching far beyond our borders. This statement could be misconstrued by Boko Haram/ISL as Ghana moving towards a "sharia state" system and therefore an opportune time to move into Ghana.Or a potential investor in our economy would hear this and stay away because he fears the country may be over run by extremists.
For all the above reason, the Honourable MP should be asked to resign his post or a recall petition started immediadely to force him out!

This is why we wouldn't vote for NPP.
They don't respect us, the people from the north.

Of course, as an MP, it is his democratic right to contribute to country's Parliamentary debate, but his narrow-minded and extreme view is totally unacceptable. I think it is deeply worrying and scary to see such a person, with a barbaric mindset as an MP in Ghana. His presumption of women infidelity in relationships, his radical view and the Afghan reference to bolster his argument are clearly narrow-minded and extreme.
He should be forgiven for thinking he is in "ABUDU BAANI-STAN" Parliament.
