  Our modern-day journalists have sold their souls to the devil and are suffering from commercial elephantiasis. They write according to how much they are paid and concoct and fabricate lies upon lies in sensationalism reporting, with no iota or modicum of ethics. They are destroying Ghana and themselves in the process. Gone are the days when Henry Ofori, Gyewu-Kyem and the Adanko Digs to Find Out/ Kontopiaat columns, Late Prof Ansah etc used to write quality articles and investigative reports. We need to fight the GMOs. Thanks for the enlightenment on GMOs.

  Is that, many of our journalists,with a few exceptions,are engrossed in a diabolical 'crusade' to win souls for a 'fantasy' government! They expend so much energy to "concoct and fabricate lies upon lies in sensationalism reporting",and have very little time left to focus on important and pressing national issues.
  My view is that,we cannot expect any thing better from a generation which entered the field[journalism profession]as their next best option!
  Those early professional you have cited,were self-assured and dedicated individuals,who did not need 'soli' from anybody to do what was require of them! Did you see or hear a John Hammond, Kwame Amamoo,or Agya Abrefa engage in a 'concert-party skit' on the set?

Hopefully, other journalists will take on topics such as the hundreds of millions of US Dollars spent on proprietary software when free and open source alternatives that offer more value are left unexplored.

  Sensible article written in plain English,lucid and coherent to the average Ghanaian.This is the reason why "our beloved Cameron" will always rise above the mediocre majority parading on Ghanaweb as scholars.

  The guys (Bokor and Okoampa) who are writing articles EVERYDAY on ghanaweb don't write on such subjects. The only things they write on are what one parliamentarian has said today or yesterday, what someone has said on radio three days ago, what NPP or NDC people have said, etc. Only such things.
  
  Never will you see an article from Okoampa or Bokor that makes detailed and technical analyses of government's economic policies. You can never read them talking of interest rates, stock market prices, bond yields, pension funds, house prices or other indices of our economic performance - perhaps the most important concern of the Ghanaian. You will never read anything from them about some technical shortcomings of industry in Ghana or some discoveries made by some industrialists. As for things like GM seeds and Mosanto, they say nothing about such things.
  
  The only things they write about are Mahama, NDC, Akufo-Addo, NPP, etc - things which even JSS villagers in Ghana can say something about. The more technical stuff - their output is nil, zero, zilch, noll...
  
  But our good old Cameron Duodu tackles everything. Yet this is a guy whose parents didn't have money to send him to secondary school!

  Every writer has his own unique style of writing. In fact, writing is like "fingerprint." Every individual has his unique writing signature.
  
  Therefore, I am not going to learn how Cameron Duodu writes. I have friends(writers, journalists, and novelists) who detests Cameron Duodu's style of writing.
  
  Besides, it was not his writing style I was lauding. It was the subject he chose to write on. You see the diference? And while you detest my style of writings, others simply love it. You see the difference.
  
  In the end your lamentation is pointless. It makes no difference on how I write. Get it?

  In any case I don't and will not lament over the way you write since it never breeds pain in my heart. The manner of your doodles only reflect your dearth of when and how to communicate effectively within a given period. Have you ever pondered over the calibre of persons who read articles on ghanaweb? Achebe and Soyinka you referenced mastered their arts because they lived in the worlds and minds of their audience and never threw a blanket diction across the board.
  
  Understand that any student of literary manners and for that matter any serious practising 'wordsmith' knows that diction is a linchpin of style. If your diction is verbose, it affects the essence of your write up especially the content. Do you disprove this?
  
  In any event, it's best if the majority appreciate greatly what one does as opposed to a few who sing praises of an apparent gibber.

  Cameron Duodu should take a good look in the mirror of his soul before pointing fingers at anyone. His anti-Nkrumahist bias is well established. No the slightest modicum of respect for the integrity of others will restrain his bias and even defamation against the Osagyefo.
  
  Duodu's most despicable defamatory act was to write an article on his meeting with Mandela that seriously misled the public on Nkrumah's relationship with Mandela. Duodu claimed Nkrumah snubbed Mandela during his visit to Ghana in the early 60's without offering the tiniest shred of evidence, only an alleged remark by Mandela that he had been informed that one Nkrumah government official, Barden, who was in charge of the Africa Bureau, preferred the Pan African Congress to the ANC! Yet, at the time of Mandela's secret visit to Ghana, Nkrumah had been hospitalized after escaping the Kulungugu bomb attempt on his life.
  
  The second defamatory act was for Duodu to create an impression that Nkrumah was having an affair with Genoveva Marais solely based on hearsay from a source who also was reporting hearsay from somebody else!!! A completely unjournalistic act, defamation of the dead and abject disregard for the living children of Nkrumah. How could Duodu stoop so low and dance in the filthy gutter? How would Duodu feel if a similarly sick slander was made against his late wife, without any regard to her children or Duodu himself?
