  Nkrumah was the first leader to introduce unsustainable debt into this nation by borrowing massively and unnecessarily to finance his whims and caprices to cling to power. It was a misfortune that we had such a person as president immediately after the independence. He didn't lay a realistic economic foundation for sustainable development of the young nation, considering the amount of money that was at his disposal in those days.
  
  Ghana had about one billion dollars in reserve when Nkrumah took over the reins of government from the colonial master. Could you imagine what the value of 1bn dollars was in the early fifties? Again, after 2years of his rule, cocoa prices at the world market rocketed and increased four-fold. But contrary to any sound economic planning, he did not reserve any fraction of the windfall for a rainy day, as the Whiteman had done with only one fourth of the revenue he got from cocoa. Curiously, one would like to know what Nkrumah did with all the revenues from the astronomical cocoa prices, and the big reserve he inherited that took many years to build for our financial stability and sustainable development.
  
  The man just went on a spending spree both in Ghana and around the world, throwing his weight about and talking big. So when the cocoa prices fell close to the end of his rule, he was quick to point accusing fingers at the West, blaming them for manipulating the cocoa prices to sabotage the economy of Ghana and overthrow his government. Finally, after misusing all the money mainly on useless prestigious projects, failed communist agricultural projects and whimsical mad rush industrialization projects that did not withstand the test of time, he also burdened the young nation with another billion dollars' debt before he was forced out of this country.
  
  The truth is that, Kwame Nkrumah met a rich and confident country with stable economy, and left it nearly bankrupt in few years as a result of gross mismanagement.

  Upon his own admission, Mahama had failed and he knows it. Look, during the campaign that saw Mahama becoming president, Haruna Iddrisu said that if they win the election, there are so many options open to them to supply electricity 24/7. Where are the options? I remember Adom FM challenging the Minister to come clean on that statement but his phone went dead. All effort to get him prove fruitless.
  
  Governing is not force and there is nowhere in our constitution that says that if you cannot lead, stay put and dilute our clean water. Mahama is a failure including those within his inner circle.

Hahahahaha! Would you have done the same if it was NPP that messed up this way? You see, it's this kind of hypocrisy, unnecessary defence of a failed govt, and a show of bias attitude that will send you all to hell. When it's your party, NDC doing the wrong things, it's good. When it's some other party doing same, then it's bad, hell must break loose. Is that good judgment? If you know what lies in stall for Mahama and his NDC cronies, you wouldn't be writing this piece of toilet paper, asking Ghanaians to tolerate this govt's gargantuan failure. A govt that won't admit its fault, nor swallow, pocket its pride, in the face of all the economic woes, deserves no single pity. Like "chinchinga", Ghanaians are ready to grill this network of thieves and nationwreckers, like they would have done to any party. You see, hell is prepared for people like you, Ablordeppey, rabidly bias, always defending what is not true. What did you ever say when Mahama danced to Lumba's "Yentie Obiaa"? You were all happy, but he made a mockery of himself. Now that it's time for him to dance to their own tunes proper, you're crying. We're spelling doom for this excessively vainglorious and recalcitrant govt.

I was saddened to read on Monday in a contribution on this very web a young man describing our learned
  judge, Justice Atuguba as a 'BASTARD'.
  We have lost our moral values in Ghana and unless we change this country we are doomed because even the Bible says that RESPECT YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.
  When did we start calling our elders, fathers and mothers names. I pray for that young man that God will forgive him and his entire family.
