  The ECG is owned by Ghana and the Government doesn't need the signature of the MD to change the management arrangements. Do I need the signature of my tro tro driver to change the driver? Your story is not credible.

  The Crystal clear lens is a big joke. I think that the name should be changed to THE CRYSTAL BLIND LENS. Whoever told the Crystal that Hutton-Mensah opposed the sale of ECG is A BIG LIAR. It was rather Hutton-Mensah who went round ECG telling the workers that he has been given two years to oversee the transition of ECG into a private entity. Whoever gave you this RUBBISH about Hutton-Mensah's opposition to ECG'S privatization is a liar and an idiot.
  I will not be surprised if it is Hutton-Mensah himself who I peddling these lies around. Let me tell you if you do not know, HUTTON-MENSAH IS A PATHOLOGICAL LIAR. He has been sacked and that is the end of the matter. He would have caused MORE HAVOC in ECG if he had not been SACKED.

Doesn't the government have a selling right to privatize the ECG and have a right also to employ the relevant people she thinks she can work with? Besides, is privatization illegal to be done? EXCUSE WITH THIs, there are more pressing and important issues to attend to by Ghana.

  2. Competition, so that if they fail to perform, and invest as required capital, Ghanaians will have choices.
  If we do it the Gha-Chem way where politicians like the late PNDC huncho PV Obeng takes their cut and sell, and the nation is still in dum-sor after 1, 2, 3, 4 years, then what do we do? it would imply the NDC also has sold us off like the NPP did of Ghana Telecom.
  Selling assets and spending the money is no different than selling the nation. However it appears we don't have a choice. The only salvation is to have several distribution companies take parts of the company and provide competitive choices.
  BTW if anybody wants to know, the method used in the US cities and towns is to give the contract to one Utility company and monitor their performance carefully, with monitoring of performance, complaints, meeting delivery specifications, and a hearing every 5 years or so to re-approve or reject them, with fines if they don't meet the standards. They can also lose the contract to another company if there are too many customer dissatisfaction.
