  If Bokor thinks there is nothing wrong with "selling" ECG, let Mahama sell Ghana and you can go back to Togo where really you comes from.

  My friend why are so dishonest? Why dont you address the current performance of what was once Ghana Telecom after Kufuor stupidly, greedily and selfishly sold it a few years ago, but you surreptitiously jump over Vodafone in your write up to address the performance of the entire Telecoms sector because you very damned well know that Vodafone, which bought Ghana Telecom, is not doing so well with that company. This demystifies that age-old untruth that universally, state enterprises dont perform well.
  
  All in all, you are merely raising this spurious argument only just to justify the infernally corrupt regime of Mahama in their nefarious intention of selling the ECG. And I dare say that, you have the temerity to support such a dastardly act only because you will - with other like-minded people of your ilk, exclusively benefit from some of the soiled crumbs that may fall off Mahamas table. Shame on you.
  
  At the rate we are going, very soon, nothing significant in this country will belong to the country Ghana or Ghanaians anymore and what this tells me is that all Ghanaians are inept, incompetent, stupid and lazy and we should just simply stop going to school and farm out the ownership and management of all public facilities and institutions to foreigners to come and run them on our lazy and incompetent behalf. Does this really make any sense to you? Do you realize where this will take us? It will lead us into slavery all over again but this time it will be in a country which was once ours but which we dont own or have any say in it anymore.
  
  Does this trend also not tell you that 60 years after independence, Ghanaians have increasingly become more and more stupid and useless? Does this also not tally with what racist white people have been saying all along that we black people are a waste of space on this earth? Do you agree with that?
  
  If God in His ultimate wisdom created you and provided you with all that you need to transform your life for the better and you turn around and say that God did not make a good job out of you so therefore you will ask other human beings also created by the same God to come over and do what you are supposed to do for yourself, what do you think others will call you?

  And if a new Ministry of Power is what is required, how come Ghanaians are not aware of a strategic plan that ties all the respective players (ECG, VRA, GRIDCO, ect.) into a coherent policy platform and identifies sale of asset(s) as requirement(s).
  
  Further, is it effective and productive governance for solitary individuals, whatever their titles in government to "... to go ahead with whatever plans it has up its sleeves to improve management of the ECG to enhance efficiency and productivity..."
  
  How can we be sure those "plans" will solve the problems to the total benefit the people, that the best partners are selected in that regard?
  
  ITEM: In the absence of a more reflective and objective commentary, we will surmise that Dr. Bokor is arguing that because the NPP sold Ghana Telecom, the NDC can also sell ECG (and other energy entities). This is not nearly rational enough for Ghana, even at this time.
  
  Where is the Ghana National Energy Strategic Plan?

  Books never write anything without referring to Kufuor. Perhaps government shoul sell all the ministries too because they are under forming. After all Rawlings sold Ghana's hotels and factories to himself and his wife.

  Selling ECG is no solution to the power problem but yet another unwise step to shackle Ghana with another huge drain on our foreign earnings, with not much to show for it. Just a couple of says ago, I learned that Vodafone is transferring about a $1bn out of Ghana annually. and how much did they pay for GT??? Peanust! MTN is also dong same. These are major causes of the pressure on and fall in the cedi nobody is talking about.
  
  Btw, it is simply a myth that private enterprises develop a country these days. What has happened to all the factories, etc. The PNDC/NDC divested? Sometimes, divesting is often a disaster to the industry, as case studies had shown.
  
  My study of economic history clearly demonstrate the important role states in even Western Europe played in their devt., e.g., the corporatist states of Scandinavia, e.g.
  
  By the late '80s, books had been published to show how the state was behind the phenomenal leap fwd of the Asian Tigers. So finding a solution to what we are doing wrong is the answer to the problem, not another sale.
