Strong partisanship started in Ghana when Kwame Nkrumah divided the nation into patriots and traitors. Patriots were those who accepted that he should be president for life, practice communism and one party state, and indulge in Leftist anti-Western propaganda using our country's meager resources to challenge centuries' old, well-established Western countries. They even accepted that he should be a prophet and savior of the Blackman around the world, and yet tyrannize his own Black people at home because they have alternative views for the development of their country.

Those who wanted him to concentrate on the needs of the young nation and tone down his rhetoric to our level were called traitors, nation wreckers, and agents of imperialism and CIA agents that should be liquidated and imprisoned dead or alive. Could you believe that the opposition members he was tyrannizing were the very people who started the struggle for our independence? They employed Nkrumah and paid for his ticket from the UK to come and work as a General Secretary of the group, saving him from the tyranny and indignity of joblessness in London. The independence struggle Vanguards were senior civil servants in the Gold Coast. And as their struggle was gaining momentum and scope of the activities widening, they needed someone to work full time for the group; free from official work constrains to further spread the their message to the people.

Under their responsibility and protection, Nkrumah used the platform to become the public face of the group and his popularity soared. This was because, many people in those days saw him as the person, or the only person that was fighting for our independence. So when he secretly learnt from the Governor General's British female secretary, who was later sacked, that the British were preparing to grant us independence, Nkrumah increasingly used unnecessary militant and unorthodox tactics to annoy the Authority - when it was clear that "the wind of change was blowing"- in order to embarrass the group and outfox them. He then used the opportunity to break away from the group, forming his own party and slapping them from behind to take power.

This might explain the strong partisanship between the two groups, and why Nkrumah didn't want the so-called traitors, or more appropriately, the liberation vanguards to ever come to power in his life time. Maybe he was afraid of his own ghost. And despite all what happened, his supporters still want us to believe that he initiated, spearheaded and single handedly fought for our independence, and therefore name every national project after him as if we were in a kingdom.

They've conveniently ditched their ALL-DIE-BE-DIE war slogan and now are desparately using alternate ALL-LIE-BE-LIE propaganda vehicle to distort, deceive, and destroy, all the while falsely accusing their political opponents of engaging in the very diabolical acts that they actually are well-known for. The difference between Nkrumah and his team of Ghanaians and the UP/Busia/Dankwa group of saboteurs is that Nkrumah and his team were nation-builders while the UP/Busia/dankwa group were a band of nation-wreckers. The CIA may have aided them in destroying Ghana's asiprations, but it certainly ca't help them to think in the right direction. Ahoofe lives in the USA, and what country practices more socialism than the USA with its elaborate welfare system, free Section 8 housing, and the countless Social security disability giveaways? That is not a crime, yet Nkrumah was seen as a villain by the USA for being a socialist. There are those who aree quick to proclaim that Nkrumah was a victim of the cold war monkey business. Nothing could be farthest from the truth. The USA and its CIA have a agenda that calls for the marginalization of others, particularly African countries, to ensure that its continuous dominance of the world. Nkrumah was not only seen as one who had a vision for Ghana, but also one who was on the verge of influencing other African countries to take their destiny into their own hands. Through Nkrumah and other like-minded African leaders of the time, there was greater cooperation between African countries. The UP/Busia/Dankwa group conveniently misled all who care to listen that Nkrumah was out to rule Africa.

Prof, I disagree with Kennedy Agyapong that women are using politicians or men "to make money", when it comes to the drug trade. Women are rather used by men as traffickers. Often, it's the women who get caught, arrested, tried and jailed in the business whilst the drug kingpins and barons (men) enjoy their freedom. When the women are successful in delivering the drugs they are paid pittance compared to what the men get.

Women also get into trouble with the kingpins and barons if they sense danger of detection and potential arrest, abandon the drugs and manage to escape arrest from the authorities at ports. Some are held in captivity and made to sell their bodies to pay for the lost drugs. Their families would be at risk if they run away from their enslavement.

When the women are arrested, they often refuse to disclose the identities of the kingpins and barons they are working for, for fear of serious repercussions and risk to their family members. At best, the kingpins and barons may provide some financial and material support to the women's children or family whilst incarcerated abroad or at home.

For me, as far as the narcotic trade is concerned, most women are victims rather than taking advantage of men. Nonetheless, this is not in defense of women drug traffickers. Some, such as Nayele are willing participants (looking at her lifestyle and expensive properties she has acquired in Ghana) and have no sympathy for her.
