  I lived in Japan for 4 years and had a chance to visit farms and industrial facilities, including Recycling plants, Warehouses, Public Markets, Educational institutions, etc. The Japanese have cultivated all species of plants, and have a use, many times multi-uses, for practically all vegetation.
  
  So, what are the uses of the seeds, leaves, plant, of the Alasa in Ghana, other than the fruit being an occasional snack for children?

  I understand. Others can chime in, in this highly technical area!
  
  However, for basic educational purposes, a total plant usefulness would take us away from the nutrition question per se, to research, technology/applied.

  The poor man's approach would be to find out exactly how/what/why other communities/societies utilize this plant. Inherently, societies are most productive when they learn from others.
  
  So, if the plan is hardy, germinates in 3-4 weeks, and survives easily in the Accra plains, might we be able to cultivate it to solve some urban problems - erosion, flooding, water pollution, etc., after the fruits are harvested for the nutrition?
  
  ITEM: I did a 5-minute search on the internet using the name you provided. I am amazed about "the literature."
  
  READ:

  ITEM: Without making a judgement on the quality, you will agree that is "Research". If a "pill" is developed for the "natural antioxidant boosters", we'd then be in the realm of applied-technology.

  Don't be lazy. Use the name provided here to search for nutritional importance on the crop.
