Thanks Doc for the guidelines. One problem I have is that most Ghanaian dishes require oil- so called "stews" No easy task convincing the lady in the kitchen to cut down on the oil! Almost everything requires oil. Even the beans (legumes) has to smothered into bean stew. We need some recipes on our main Ghanaian dishes that cut cut some of the oil.

Very well said. I hope many of us will heed your clear and simple advice. Perhaps people will need some help understanding the food groups, and how you translate these into actual exemplar foods. Your advice on avoiding salt is also particularly important because high blood pressure is one of our major problems in Ghana today, and is directly linked to high sodium (from salt) in the diet.
