He finds support from some obscure author that " preventive detention" is even not proscribed under US laws and so, it was ok for Nkrumah to lock his opponents without trial. Well Francis, you can also find a scholar who will justify what Hitler did, but we all know he was wrong. To some of us, Nkrumah did some good things, but he was a dictator and we are glad he was overthrown. I was a kid when he was overthrown, but I now understand why my father, a cocoa farmer, and his friends were jubilating. Unlike the corrupt JJ Rawlings, the thieving JA Kufuor, and the corrupt and empty head Mahama, Nkrumah spent 9 years in power and did not have even a mud house to his name. Everything he did was for his country. He achieved in 9 years more than the combined achievements of governments that came after him.

The truth is that it was Nkrumah who laid the foundation for modern-day Ghana. This is what he did with the 250 million pounds. He built the schools, hospitals, roads, factories, dam and bridges, railways and harbours. Tens of thousands of people in Ghana at my age who are lawyers, doctors, engineers, nurses, teachers, accountants, agriculturalists, scientist and others wouldn't be what they are today, had it not been for the educational opportunities provided by Nkrumah. Indeed, the black man is like chicken, he eats to his fill and then wipes his beak on the ground.

Kwadwo, please read about your economic history because knowledge is power. It is commonly said in North America that black people do not read, and that if you want to hide something precious from a black man hide it in a book.

Please dKwadwo should desist from talking about Russians and their presidence in Ghana. Today India, China, North Korea, etc., are all powerful because they are nuclear powers. Do use their nuclear statuses to industrialize their economies and to use them bargaining chips with others!

And yes, Russians (and others?) were helping us develop nuclear (or atomic) plants to industrialize our economy, what did your sycophantic National Liberation Counci do when it came to power! It handed the blueprint to the West.

And today we all crying because we realize energey from the Akosombo Dam is insufficient. Today the descendants of the National Liberation Council are asking the same program be revamped. See how prescient and visionary Nkrumah was?

50 years on and we still can't catch up with Nkrumah despite the fact we have oil/gas, new discovery of mineral wealth, in other words, Ghana is richer today than Nkrumah's era! Is this not a shame?

What the do is to add one brick here and there to what Nkrumah has already made (or secretly revisit his 7 YEAR PLAN, TAKE ONE OR TWO IDEAS THEREFROM) construct them and call them their own). Kwadwo should tell us what we have done in 50 years that surpasses Nkrumah's achievenments in 9 years (despite all our new-found national wealth)!

Like you said, we owe whatever we owe in Ghana today to Nkrumah.

How much have all the admistrations after Nkrumah added to his legacy! Don't forget what Nkrumah did for Africa nd the world.

In other words, we don't have to limit the 250 million to only Ghana. Part of this money "went," take note, into freeing the entite continent including South Africa. Today South Africa has a buoyant economy to suport Ghana's in many ways.

Part of the 250 million also went to thousands building a cadre of doctors, engineers, professors, teachers, nurses, diplomats, scientsts, NASA robotic engineers, academiv inventors, etc., who are making Ghana and the world proud! That is, shallow people always want to see money or investment in qualitative terms as well. The contributions these cadre of thinkers are making to human knowledge should be considered part of the 250 million!

This is what the shallow thinking of people like Kwadwo does.He thinks Americans were all rich and living like Bill Gates when America gave money to Germany and Japan to build their socities! People like Kwadwo are not serious!

And what is his enduring legacy by way of true democracy? These questions are not simplistically answered by the fallacious reference to evil somewhere as a justification for evil everywhere. Nkrumahist idiots cite America as the source of evil for overthrowing Nkrumah, and again cite America as a source of inspiration to justify Nkrumah's dictatorship. Let me end it here. Again for your information, if you want firsthand knowledge on where the so-called Holocaust actually began, I mean, where the Nazis perfected their Holocaust techniques, etc., Kwadwo, you need not look at Europe at all.

Read David Olusoga's and Casper Erichsen's thoroughly research book (pay attention to the primary sources) "The Kaiser's Holocaust: Germany's Fotgotten Genocide and the Colonial Roots of Nazism."

This book puts you in South West Africa (Namibia today), site of the first genocide in modern history. You may also want to read the 1985 Whitetaker Report (United Nations) for additional information.

Finally, you can check out Ben Kiernan's "Blood and Soil: A World History of Genocide from Sparta to Darfur" for general info!

You know I have always respected and never once asked you to change them. As for finding scholars who will justify what Hitler did, as you put, is none of my problem. I think that should be your headache and homework.

For your information, the same people (the West and America) that supported Hitler's industrialization also supported Nkrumah's progressive ideas and the same people supported Danquah and Busia and the NLM to overthrow Nkrumah, kill Lumumba and Cabral Malcolm X and Martin Luther king, Jr., and put Mandela and several others behind.

The same manpulative people West supported Houphouet-Boigny's, Senghor's, Kenyatta's one-party state while condemning Nkrumah's. This piece chose to address hypocrisies who take to criticisms based on selective evidence.

I have heard so many people attack Nkrumah's one-party state while giving unqualified support to Senghor and Houghouet-Boigny leaderships without knowing that Senghor and Houephouet-Boigny ran also one-party state. The latter's was particularly brutal.

Read the writings of the 16th century Spanish Catholic-priest historian and writer Bartolome de las Casas, specifically his works "A Short History of the Destruction of the Indies" and "History of the Indies." That should tell you how the West collaborated with or contributed to making monsters like Stalin, Hitler, and Japanese fascists!

American industrialisists like Henry Ford all aided Adolf Hitler with the approval of the American government!

Clarence Thomas is a typical example over here. But know that he is wrong on his decisions on civil rights and other issues that have come before the Court. So was Nkrumah on PDA, life presidency and one party state. I admit he did well on several fronts, but he headed in the wrong direction on the Cold War and personal freedom domestically. Why are Canadians not calling former Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau (deceased) a dictator after invoking the War Measures Act that suspended civil liberties in October 1970 to combat a parallel power in Quebec that threatened the Canadian Federation? I can understand your position sometimes. But what Dr. Dompere is doing with Nkrumah's ideas (plus his ideas and texts on economics) is benefiting the present world in so many ways.

I mentioned the World Bank, Los Alomos (America), Russia, India, and Japan as some of the few places benefiting from his ideas (and those he had done on Nkrumah via scientific and mathematical attestation).

Other than that, Dr. Dompere and I share expertise in mathematical modeling, simulation, operations research (or management science), statistics, and general mathematics, all of which form the bases of industrial economies.

Thus, I am able to appreciate the theoretical superstructure of his work as a result of these. My reason is simply this: Why are advanced countries and economies warming up to his ideas, but developing countries are largely not? This essay partly addreses itself to the question.

Finally, I also wanted to challenge our leaders to reconsider making heavy investments in mathematics and science. My reason for mentioning Dr. Farley and his ability to find practical solutions to terrorism, say, via mathematics is to strengthen the case for mathematics education. I am worshipping anyone.

You may also recall that I have agreed and praised you on this forum, but you will not say or stretch that to mean I am worshipping you for that matter. I appreciate the beauty of my mind, yours and those of others.

In fact, I have cited some of the arguments you have made on Ghanaweb to justify some of the debates I have had with friends. This is what human being beings. I don't have all the answers, neither do I know everything.

We all go outside out limited knowledge enclaves to read and to learn from others to expand out limited horizons. That is how I have grown over the years.

On the other hand, your law advice is still on the table. I shall continue to learn from you (Dr. SAS), Drs. Farley, Dompere, Diop, and others.

You may want to rewrite to show clearly what his ideas can do for town planning in Ghana for example, and proceed to take one idea at a time and discuss its use for our present circumstances. This will be good for us.

Let me also ask: Does the fact that the militias which America's Founding Fathers created to fight the British in the so-called American War of Independence no longer in existence, invalidate America's Constitution, the brainchild of the Founding Fathers?

Does the fact the militias which the administration of Abraham Lincoln created to fight in the Civil War no longer in existence, invalidate the incidental benefits of his Emancipation Proclamation?

Is it an irony that FDR's security security, New Deal, minimum wage legislation, abolition of child labor, unemployment benefits, care for the aged and the handicapped, etc., made American a better place, though other components of his New Deal no longer exist?

Does that mean Roosevelt's entire legacy has no relevance to America today? America's Founding Fathers instituted many innovative ideas that no longer exist today or have relevance to America's contemporary political economy! I can go around the world and pick examples from every country.

The point is that Dr. Dompere's scientific and mathematical works on Nkrumah (and his influential economics texts) has earned him memberships in prestigious scientific, mathematical, and economics(?) organizations in America and the larger world. All these organizations are modern.

Besides, modern organizations like the African Union, the World Bank, the Organization of American States (OAS), American institutions, and tons of others, all modern institutions, have benefited from his works on Nkrumah and others.

Remember the American-based Los Alamo's is still an internationally-respected scietific research organization. Some of the scientists have taken keen interest in Dr. Dompere's work. Some scholars and scientists in Russia, Europe, Japan, India, etc., have taken insterest in his work as well.

All these societies are modern and it is the the scientific and mathematical implications of Dr. Dompere's works for the development of today's societies that have caught the world's attention. It is also why his major texts are generally so expensive, some as expensive as $300-plus!

Finally, ideas like lattice theory , simulation, operations research (or management science), mathematical modeling, stochastic modeling, etc., have implications for twon planning and more.

Operation Research techniwues like linear programming, network flows, queuing, and several others are directly applied in town (or urban) planning.

You may want to read Robin Hompson's and Harry Dimitrio's book "Strategic Planning Regional Development in the UK." Perhaps, the Amerian army, the Chinese army, European armies, etc., rely on Operations Research more than any other discipline.

Dr. Dompere has a degree in Operations Research (or Management Science). I also have a degree in Operations Research. Operations Research is analytics and analytics is what holds all the world's major economies together.

Operations Research techniques are powerful tools also used in law enforcement (Please see the website for the US Department of Justice at www.ncjrs.gov/pdffiles1/nij/sl000798.pdf.

Please check out title "OPERATIONS RESEARCH APPLIED TO LAW ENFORCEMENT OPERATIONS). In other words, there is a legal aspect to the techniques of Operations Research. Thus. Dr. Dompere brings all these ideas to the scientific and mathematical investigation of Nkrumahism. The conclusions he draws are for today's development. It may interest you to know, Dr. SAS, that Dr. Dompere also has extensive exptertise in jurisprudence, which he also brings to bear on his scholarship.

Finally, we can accept that not all ideas of America's Founding Fathers, Abraham Lincoln, or Franklin D. Roosevelt are relevant today. Unfortunatlely their ideas are what hqve made what America is today. Most of Nkrumah's ideas are relevant today. This is what Dr. Dompere's works demonstrate.

Let us be mindful of the fact that the equivalent of Young Pioneers and Action Troopers (call American Founding Fathers' and Abraham Lincoln's militias)have made Isreal and America what they are today.

Also the scientific and mathematical techniques Dr. Dompere uses are modern, tested, and proven effective. He has also designed his own mathematical techniques where none are not readily available in modern science or mathematics.

If scholars, scientifics, researchers, experts, etc., from powerful economies and socieies (World Bank, etc) can find Dr. Dompere's works on Nkrumah (plus his non-Nkrumahist ecomnomic texts) scientifically and mathematically modern and applicable to their own societies, why can African countries? This is the essence of this series. In other words, Dr. Dompere's scholarship on Nkrumah has more to say about Africa's modernization, town planning, etc., than any I have seen on read!

My job is to provide readers with the theoretical foundations of his works. Don't you think it is the duty of the reader to go further than what I have presented here, if he or she is so interested?

For instance, the World Bank, the Government of Botswana, the Organization of American States, and several institutions (including American ones some of which I have mentioned in this piece) around the world have information/record on the practical aspects of his works.

Some of these organizations have successfully implemented his ideas. And they have worked so well. This is what I mean!

You take DR SAS too seriously as someone who wants to learn. No, such persons as him have their minds fixated in what they had convinced themselves as right ideologically and so on, so nothing can change their minds. In a way, we their opposites are also like them. So we belong to two different paradigms, two parallel paths, two irreconcilable ideas and, thus, cannot see eye to eye on certain key issues.

We can debunk their positions though, with superior insights, arguments, knowledge, historical facts, etc., etc. So when he and his ilk referred to Nkrumah as a "defunct tyrant", etc. whose ideas are past, I am reminded that Jesus Christ and Mohammed had been dead for over a 1000 years now but are there not millions still going about propagating their teachings as the salvation that will take us to Nirvana? Oh! I'll also find time to straighten him up on democracy, one party systems, PDA and dictatorships. After probity and accountability and tolerance against corruption have failed us, I am sure he can't resist "we shall be dictatorial against corruption and lawlessness and no apologies!" from the Nkrumaist camp.:-) If he doesn't like it, let the masses decide.
