  Chieftaincy must be abolished in Ghana because these people are nothing but criminal elements whose main concern is selling off the peoples lands and other properties. Kwaku Duah being chief among these criminals.

  By referring to the Aduanhene as a mere "head mortuary man," you are causing a great disservice and disrespect to the Chieftaincy institution. Do not belittle the role of the Aduanahene by calling him a ‘mortuary man’ because he is not, certainly not as as understood in current practice of the mortuary profession!
  
  In traditional Asante customary designation, that Aduanahen is the Baamuhene of Kumawu. The role of the Baamuhene is to ensure that a departed King/Chief is provided with all ultimate care and ensure all the minutiae in preparing the deceased King/Chief transition to the other world is done. It is a very important position in the Asante Chieftaincy system as created by the first Asantehene Osei Tutu Opemsu?. Thus, when Osei Tutu created the Kumase Ekonti (Konti) Division headed by Baafu? Amankwatia, as the first Kumase chieftaincy group to help him govern Kumase, he also created/designated the Baamuhene, as the second position in that Fekuo or Division/Group. The Bantama Baamuhene is Otumfuo’s Baamuhene. .The Baamuhene is also in charge of the Royal Mausoleum known in Twi as Baamu. I will not belabour here the importance of ensuring the safety and treatment of a departed King/Chief here, suffice it to say that it is a very important and critical position.
  
  Secondly, the Ekontihene or Kontihene must NOT be described or spoken or written as ‘Krontihene’, as you and many people wrongly refer to. The first Ekonti/Konti Stool created in Asante is that of the Kumase Ekonti Stool created by Osei Tutu for his former stool carrier Amankwatia. Amankwatia showed exemplary courage in war by pursuing, fighting, defeating and beheading Domaa Kusi the Chief of Suntreso who had defeated and killed Osei Tutu’s uncle Obiri Yeboa the Chief of Kwaman (later to be known as Kumase). Ekonti was therefore created because of Amankwati’s valour and success in that particular war, it translates literally ‘because of success in the battle.” It should never be called/described as KRONTI.
  
  To provide a little historical narrative of the consequences of that battle, the Domaa people fled and finally settled at Wam Paamu which is now called Domaa Ahenkro in the Bono Ahafo Region. The Domaahene’s anger from the war still subsists today. This explains why at the funeral of the late Kumawuhene, the current Dommahene Agyeman Badu (who is also Ghana’s Aduana Clan Abusua Panin) and his Queenmother crossed their legs, turned their faces sideways, and refused to acknowledge the presence/greetings of Nana Bi Kusi Apea, Omanhene of Manso Nkwanta who represented the Asantehene at the funeral, while one of the Domaahene’s attendant had a gun pointed in the direction of Nana Bi Kusi Apea and his entorage. I have the photos. And all because the head of Domaa Kusi, Nana Agyeman Badu’s ancestor adorns Otumfuo’s drums. The Domaahene is therefore always angry and beside himself whenever he encounters anything or anyone representing Asantehene. And the event that makes the Domaahene angry happened in the 1690’s. It is claimed Domaahene shuts his eyes whenever he has to drive through Kumase!
  
  By the way the Kumase Konti Fekuo consists of the seven men who accompanied Beema Osei Tutu to Dankyira and Akwamu prior to Osei Tutu becoming Kumasehene/Asantehene. The Fekuo is also known as Atuo Nson, the Seven Gunners. Osei Tutu created the Kumase Akwamu Stool (in honour of Akwamuhene Ansa Sasaraku who hosted and taught Osei Tutu statecraft at Akwmufie in the 1680’s.). That is why we have the aphorism “Kontire ne Akwamu, y? mpae mu”. That is to say, Konti and Akwamu are ONE.
  
  You have made some salient points, and I endorse your right to stand up for your family but do not diminish what you subscribe to, by trying to demean the office and position that is rather most important. I fully support Nana Seiwaa Amponsa, the Kumawuhemaa, and the new Kumawuhene, and wish Kumawu peace, and all the best.

  If there us any royal family which must be banished from occupying the Kodua Stool of Kumawu,then it should be the family of Barima Asumadu Sakyi who for 34 years,exhibited gross incompetence as a chief,embezzled state funds and was jailed twice for stealing and misappropriation of Kumawu state funds. Claims against Aduanahene are allegations which has not been substantiated by any law court.Nana Asumadu was jailed for two years for his actions in 1978.Please see pictures of him being released from prison in the third week issue of the daily graphic of May 1979.Kukuo kakyere kwansen se wo ho tuum
