So Boakye does not have any moral authority to talk on behalf of these six officers, because he himself has benefitted from the corrupt system of promotions. After serving his interdiction, he once again wants to be put at the same rank with his mates who have now gone past him; and he is getting corrupt journalists like Alhaji Bature to champion this course. Again this is an anomaly. When you are restored into the service, you do not seek parity with those who are now ahead of you. You join the queue at the available door. All Kofi Boakye's prevails were brought upon him by himself. If you make yourself a tool for politicinas as he is wont to do, the result is to be dumped like a rag in the dust bin. Both NDC and NPP have used him and he should be satisfied with the little crumps that he got from their dinning tables.

Regarding the late promotion of police officers, it's not only injustice to those involved but also corruption. Information in Ghana suggests that, often, such late promotions are part of the create, loot and share culture of corruption. Whilst the officers are given letters bearing late date of their promotions, different letters with the date of when their promotions were due (2013)are provided to the Finance section or the CAGD. Their pay is therefore backdated from 2013 and the money shared by those involved in this create, loot and share corruption. This is not only within the police but most public institutions contributing to Ghana spending 70% of internally generated revenue on public sector pay.

Regarding what the Asante Regional Police Commander said, I thought that was very unprofessional and unfortunate. His warning or advice on non-political interference in recruitment was spot on but saying publicly that NPP wanted to sack him was a big mistake, even if it is true. He himself by that allegation has drawn party politics into the police. With such allegation, it would be difficult for him to remain in the police when NPP comes to power.
