It is a pity that such brazen, ignorant, idiots like yourself come out to spew vitriolic, ethnocentric puke any time serious national issues are raised.
If you care to know, the ancestors of the writer sat us heads of negotiation /peace teams during the big "palavas" when the Gold Coast was being carved and sat in the LegCo to build it to the enviable level it reached in the 1950s. What were your mentally warped ancestors who socialised you be mentally jaundiced doing then?

So we can't learn from the past? Gold was a failure now it is oil. Our law makers only think about what they will get, I will not blame the US because they make law to protect their collective interest not as it is in Ghana. Let put that bill aside in our own interest before it is too last. Mahama must act now.

Owners of the land and resources must share in the production! That is actually the "Modern" way! This way, the producer/tenant, makes money; the People make money!
ITEM: Mr. Mahama and the Ghana Parliament should not privatize the land and resources through "concessions." The way we see it, there is really nothing "modern" about "Modern Concession."
Though not an authority by any means, it is instructive to note the opening paragraph from Wikipedia:
READ: "Concessions are the oldest form of a petroleum contract, having first been developed during the oil boom in the United States in the 1800s.[3] When they were introduced around the world, concessions were one-sided contracts favoring companies, according to Revenue Watch, when many of the resource-rich nations of today were dependencies, colonies, or protectorates of other states or empires.[4].
QUESTION: Is Mr. Mahama and his government bent on perpetuating and strengthening neo-colonial ties for the benefit of private multi-national corporate interests?

Prof Lungu,
Though not an authority on the subject, you have clearly used your brains and intelligence to show that you can do research and come out with the truth about this exploitative so-called Modern Concession some gate-keepers in the GNPC, the Min. of Energy, Energy Committee, etc. have been no doubt oiled by the FOCs to foist on us. When they are challenged to defend their lies and figures they put out, they either waffle or remain mute. They have all been bribed, just as the journalists in Ghana. Can you believe that the oil coys had sent several key journalists abroad to take so-called one Masters courses, etc. in oil and gas and had put some on retainers, that's, perpetual "solis"?
We are done for if we don't rise up and challenge the colonial status quo clueless Mahama is being deceived to foist on us.

If Production sharing Agreements are the norm, why is Ghana not doing same. I believe Nigeria is getting a better deal out of the oil being extracted there. What is wrong with us?
