Akuffo Addo could have been a CPP admirer in his youthful days. What would have been worrisome is if he had maintained that stand during his adulthood. Agyimifou give us break.

Kakabo, is it really a sin for a person to maintain his democratic rights of having a different political opinion from yours or that of the NPP, or for that matter anybody else?
Are you suggesting that we should all think like you or your political Party? In this regard, are you likewise suggesting that we should all belong to the same one political Party?
What wise men are you referring to who made the dumb statement that, "it is pardonable for a youth to profess to be a socialist? Can you name those wise men if indeed they are not a figment of your imagination and an outright lie?
Of course anybody can belong to any political party and even change political parties if and when he or she chooses to. But when an individual who presents himself as a loyal member of a political party up to the time that a coup d'etat is effected - and then that person, (in this case Akuffo-Addo) opportunistically does a somersault overnight and joins the band-wagon of the coup-makers, dont you think there is something very wrong with the principles, judgement or sense of honesty of such a person?

"This is notwithstanding the fact that the five alleged major culprits of the famous treason trial involving the bomb-throwing incident at Kulungugu were Hon. Tawiah Adamafio, Hon. Ako Adjei (who suggested Nkrumah for the post of Secretary of the UGCC), H.H. Kofi Crabbe ( all CPP ministers) and Yaw Okyere and Mr. Yaw Manu of the opposition UP. When the trial freed them for lack of evidence, Nkrumah sacked the Justices, reconstituted his own trial panel which handed him the decision he wanted, which was death sentence for the accused."

People living in glass houses do not throw stones. That exactly applies to people living in the United States who always make noise like President Barack Obama without knowing the meaning of what they say. U.S. is a place where a person is killed by the police for selling cigaratte, a child is killed for playing with a toy gun and a person is killed for walking in the night. Political opponents in the US and elsewhere are murdered by the security services of that country without even sending them to prison. The latest were Col. Murmur Ghadaffi and Osaman Bin Laden. Let us not forget about the Black Panthers, Martin Luther King and others.

How long will NDC and her supporters continue being brainless? Dominated by JEALOUSY; HATRED of successful AKAN businessmen; Wee Smokers; Armed Robbers (Jack Beble and his Ewe relatives); Coup Makers and Murderers. If you were not extremely STUPID folks: How could you support the NDC and the CPP at the same time? Rawlings overthrows a CPP/PNP government led by Limann; and yet these STUPID people, so called supporters of Kwame Nkrumah turn around to support Rawlings. STUPID THIEVES and armed ROBBERS. Rawlings has not an iota of respect for Kwame Nkrumah. And yet these CRIMINALS claim to support both of them. This CRAZY psychophant- KWESI PRATT- one of the NDC's key apologists, also claims Kwame Nkrumah to be his 'god' and political mentor. He who consistently votes for the NDC, but claims to be one of the key leaders of the CPP; if he were not an INSANE fellow- has the impudence to talk about Akuffo Addo being a member of the CPP. Akuffo Addo clearly changed his political allegiance and philosophy. Akuffo Addo's was in the open. Kwesi Pratt's is in darkness. Kwesi Pratt is not man enough to admit in public that he is an NDC man. STUPID CRIMINALS- that's who you all are.

The article itself follows that confusion with unqualified and conflicting references and quotes. Does Ghanaweb edit some of these articles that it plants on its pages?

There's nothing wrong with a politician crossing carpet. You write :"For somebody who is believed to be an advocate of human rights, why would he allow himself to be counted among Nkrumah's foot-soldiers? The facts can only be that, either he believed there was nothing near human rights abuses by the Nkrumah's regime or he saw the legitimate preventive measures taken against the"terrorists" acts of his forbears as proper and necessary". Why are you conjecturing and calling it facts at the same time? The fact is there were human rights abuses in Ghana during the traumatic period of Nkrumah's dictatorship. I was a student at Mfantsipim School when Nkrumah was overthrown in 1966 so I witnessed first hand the abuses of the time . There were many top CPP activists like Komla Agbeli Gbedemah, Tawiah Adamafio and Arko Adjei who were among the five who were tried for subversive activities. If all was well in Ghana why would Arko Adjei of all CPP stalwarts be charged for alleged subversive activities? Don't try to air brush the history because there are people still living who witnessed Nkrumah's dictatorship and human rights abuses.
