  Ghana needs true political changes than consumer behavioral change; it's been the NDC and NPP who continue to promise streets flowing with milk and honey without cost to society. There is no one bold, wise and with foresight in either the NPP or NDC who will dare tell Ghanaian voters to pay for clean communities, living conditions and good leadership through principled existence and intellectual honesty.
  Let's just look at the dumsor issue and who should bear the blame: what political party, politician, or so-called leaders that came through since the 1966 coup who saw and advocated or sounded alarm bells for the lack or inadequacy in the production and distribution of electricity as a national priority? But during those years we saw, heard from and voted politicians into office who promised to give us most things for free or highly subsidized by government without asking where government gets the money to provide those promises or what other national priority will suffer. We've become a nation of unenlightened thought processes and thus fail to see the need to offer any other party the opportunity to run Ghana; we rather alternate between the NDC and NPP while expecting a change. We have rotten goat heads in NPP and NDC which has lead to a demoralized voter public caught up in tribal and political party loyalties we cannot cut off our dependence on rotten heads in NPP and NDC from body politics in Ghana.

  Have the solar option been explored ? More PV local (residential) PV would stabilise the grid during day time when the sun shines. The inverters (the box that transforms the power from direct current to alternate current) can also act as a grid stabiliser (by delivering reactive power, at all times - also when there is no sun). Finally- from the point of the consumer- installing PV is alsmost similar to energi saving measures. I other countries (for instance germany or Sweden) consumers organise community ownership of PV plants
