  Very educative of Francis and Prof Lungu.I worked under J H Mensah and they had no economic policy.In the long run we were summarizing Nkrumah plans for the Havard Economic team that had be assembled What a shame?

  Our approach is, as much as we can, we provide comments on essays by writers who "descend" into the forum to respond to comments about their essays. Francis Kwarteng and us just happen to agree on some existential questions related to Ghana and Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
  
  Fortunately, we may just have a little more time and resources, than some people on this forum.
  
  ITEM: If a writer has a pattern of not "descending", or one has a pattern of hurling insults at other essayists, we generally do not continue to provide comments on their work, except in special cases where the policy relevance is significant.
  
  Same goes for commentators! We generally do not respond to insult-laden "attacks" by people who merely provide comments of that nature.
  
  And as we said on the other side, "Twice is the Charm", sometimes!

  To be truthful to history I think it is critical to separate Nkrumah, the Pan Africanist from Nkrumah the President of the Republic of Ghana. Nkrumah at home did not tolerate anyone who opposed him and certainly gave Ghanaians much less freedom from the colonialist he took power from. The world could hail him as the greatest Pan Africanist of time but to me who experienced first hand his rule he was simply a tyrant who woefully lost the greatest opportunity to build a strong economy for our country. Had he not dissipated our resources on his pan African course Ghana would have been a totally different story. I hope his admirers would be mindful of how many Ghanaians feel about his reign and tone down their sentiments. Nkrumah was not Saint, please!
