A guy walks into a bar with his pet monkey. He orders a drink and while he's drinking, the monkey starts jumping all over the place. The monkey grabs some olives off the bar and eats them, then grabs some sliced limes and eats them, then jumps up on the pool table, grabs the cue ball, sticks it in his mouth and swallows it whole. The bartender screams at the guy, "Did you see what your monkey just did?" The guy says, "No, what?" "He just ate the cue ball off my pool table - whole!" says the bartender. "Yeah, that doesn't surprise me," replies the patron. "He eats everything in sight, the little jerk. I'll pay for the cue ball and stuff." He finishes his drink, pays his bill, and leaves. Two weeks later he's in the bar again, and he has his monkey with him. He orders a drink and the monkey starts running around the bar again. While the man is drinking, the monkey finds a seedless grape on the bar. He grabs it, sticks it up his butt, pulls it out, and eats it. The bartender is disgusted. "Did you see what your monkey did now?" "Now what?" asks the patron. "Well, he stuck a seedless grape up his butt, then pulled it out and ate it!" says the barkeeper. "Yeah, that doesn't surprise me," replies the patron. "He still eats everything in sight, but ever since he ate that cue ball he measures everything first!"

Kofi Ata you forgot to mention PC Appiah Ofori when he insulted the Cape Coast chief as ' ohene gyen-gyan' just about five weeks to the 2012 elections, there too Nana Addo and the NPPeither refused to or could not see the damage the PC insult will do at the poll even though the people of central region called for an appology which never came and sounded a warning to the NPP. Now assuming this PC factor cost Nana Addo and the NPP say 15 000 votes in central region only not forgeting that Nana lost by only 40 000 national.
Again i am sceptical about the perception that Nana will be a strong, strigent, principled,no nonsense, incorruptible etc president if voted into power looking at his leadership of the NPP am afriad his government may have too many interferrances and power brokers over his head.

It is said "When a tree grows in a crooked, or bent shape to maturity, any attempt to straighten it could only lead to its destruction or even death" So this could be the lapse in our political discourse. Looking at our leaders and dispassionately, one
can see a pattern of the tree's shape depicted above. Our politicians can be classified into, (a)Wealthy, (b)Learned, and (c) Business men. All these have their minds set or entrenched in their identities, and are not willing to share or change the status quo. They all aim at improving only their own lot. After all how many of them have come out from down-right poverty to these "Honorable" positions and yet humble enough to mix with the down trodden. The tree will snap under such circumstances. So after all "all die be die, just as they cannot allow or Let "Others manage their Resources". I suppose there could be reason to such views but Hmmm!!-2016!!!

I agree to much of what you say except this: "Why is he still a deputy minister when he made very serious corruption allegations against cabinet ministers and traditional leaders?"
Since when does accusing others of corruption become an error liable to dismissal? He should be made to give a proof as a responsible person in the government.
In Ghana, it is assumed you can't address in certain way, certain categories of person in Ghana because for respect for the position they hold but I find it hypocritical.
For instance, in the past, I was rebuked by my dad for saying my Uncle lied on me simply because he was "elder and uncle"! He played on semantics, trying to tell me I should have said, what he was saying wasn't true. But saying the untruth is telling a lie. So where do we stand in this?
If a minister of state, who went on Radio to accuse someone of serious corruption, he may not have acted probably diplomatically, but there's nothing diplomatic or respectful of anyone in Ghana governments anymore. They have all sold their souls to one form of corruption or another. So while is stares us in the face that we're losing respect for them, they are the ONLY who can help us sidestep dire corruption.
In fact, I have not had the occasion to listen to the rants Murtala is accused of, to be candid, so my comments may just be my opinion...

what really lead to the loss of the election has very little to do with what you've written above.
many Ghanaians, and mostly uninformed at that, already had their opinion about the man. the NDC used that to their advantage and propagated falsehoods at him. to those who already saw in him some attributes they've suspected, those speculations were enough to confirm that. he was characterised as a womanizer, drug addict, dishonest, etc. even you and Bokor helped in spreading those rumours about him not having certificate and whatnots which helped in undoing him. sadly, many uninformed Ghanaians fell for that simply because they don't like the man or what he stands for.
he failed because the NPP officials sat down whilst the NDC went about painting him black. he failed because he didn't think those rumours were going to have effect on the elections. he failed because lots of uninformed voters chose to believe in those rumours. he failed because he sat down and watched his image get tainted. unfortunately, you, Bokor, uncle Kpegah and others joined in maligning him.
that "All-die-be-die" statement was far less harmful that what Haruna Iddrisu said concerning what Ghana could be like (Kenya in that case) if the election turned out as otherwise expected. didn't the president even tell the Northerners to vote for him "because they have been veeps" for too long? oddly, the likes of you and Bokor don't see anything wrong or ethicist about that.
add the issue of the debate to that. you had the likes of Ayariga constantly making fun of him. Dr. Abu Sakara on the other hand attacked the NPP, although in a matured way. almost all failed to see nothing wrong with the NDC. Ayariga only went there to concur in Mahama's opinion. so you had a man from the south amongst men from the north. Dr. Abu Sakara is fine man by all means, Mahama I could take to, Ayariga......?? well, the rest is up to you to decide.
concerning Kennedy Agyapong's statement, you are simply being unfair to the man. he has clearly stated his words were twisted by the media, but i guess that means nothing to you. maybe you should watch the video below and stop throwing dust into people's eyes.

all you did was answer only one of many points i raised. why was he singled out among the other candidates for those attacks? nobody even bothered to check about the background of Ayariga who went around claiming he did this and that in Germany. those here who knew him very well will tell you a different story of what he really undertook during his stay here.
i do not have a problem with people asking about NADAA credentials. it would only have been fair if all the other candidates were intensely probed or scrutinized. how many of you asked about the CVs of the other candidates? you only took their words for it and did not go beyond that to ask for hard evidence. and that is what makes lots of us wanna puke.
and to be clear, i am not accusing you. i am only stating what you did; ie writing articles about him that helped undo him. maybe you should sit back and read your articles written on 13 and 18 November 2012.

and why do you and your likes think he has to prove something to you? like i mentioned earlier, it would only be fair if you and likes (Kpegah and Bokor) demanded the same from the other candidates. you chose to dwell on an unimportant matter and helped making him the centre of unnecessary attention and feeding immature heads with untruths and half-truths.
and assuming he was no lawyer at all, does that not qualify him to run for the office of the presidency? do us a favour and probe Ayariga's background and claims as to how he first got to Germany and what he really did here.
will you also take up my challenge and delve into backgrounds of the other candidates?

It's noble of a man to sit down and ponder over his choice of words and come out publicly to say he could have done better with his choice of words. Those words were not necessarily wrong but it was the timing that was politically incorrect. Would you as a father apologize to the community for telling your timid son to man up, stop being a sissy, and stand and fight the "area" bully? When did defending oneself become such an anathema to peace and stability? "S3 kukru kukru no gyae a keka keka no nso begyae"(Nana Kwame Ampadu).
Nana Akuffo Addo deserves commendation but not your condemnation for the public admission that the"adbd" comment contributed to his 2012 defeat at the polls. The NDC kept spinning his comment out of control because they had no record of achievements to campaign on. Yes, the "adbd" comment was a contributing factor but was not the game changer. The real game changer was and it's still the bloated electoral register. 56.2 per cent is unrealistic. There were many irregularities that characterized and marred the inviolability and credibility of the elections but you choose instead like all NDC activists to fashion a mountain out of a mole-hill (the adbd comment).
It's so laughable how you've suddenly found your voice and pontificating on what's morally right and wrong. Mahama can play the region hegemony card and solicit for northern votes by saying it's time for one of their own to be president but in your NDC playbook that's called nationalism. Mahama can make the vast majority of his appointments from among his northern kinsmen and from the Volta Region and you don't see how this undermines national unity, peace and stability and think this is better than"adbd". Mahama recently promised the Konkomba tribe of giving them cabinet appointments and you still think this is pure statesmanship.
Don't be critical of all die be die. Appreciate its value.

If you think Nana Akufo-Addo saying that adbd contributed to his defeat after three years is humble, that is your view. If you also compare or equate adbd to what Mahama and the late Mills told voters in Northern and Central regions, that is also your view. At least, both Mills and Mahama did not encourage a single life to lost. That is the difference.
I am humble enough to apologise to my teenage daughter when I have done something wrong, such as spoken harshly to her in anger or wrongly accused her doing something unacceptable and it turns out that she was innocent. I do not wait weeks but do so in days. In fact, in some instances within a day after reflection but I am careful so such mistakes are rare on my part.
If you pay attention, you would have known that I have mentioned the over-representation of Northerners in Mahama's government and concluded that he is in breach of the constitution that requires public appointments to have a regional balance.
Those of you who often defend Nana Akufo-Addo any time some of his weakness are pointed are actually doing him any favours. I am certain had Nana Akufo-Addo done and will do what I suggested, his chances of securing the presidency will improve.
