  It's unfortunate that Ada seems to stage her own rape. But I don't think this will detract from the seriousness with which the police address rape cases. I think there should be a public awareness campaign to educate women on the importance of reporting rape cases.

  While Ms. Ada's case has yet to be a adjudicated, we sincerely hope it will not affect enforcement and prosecution of cases of sexual assault and sexual harassment. Justice must always prevail for all.

  While I'm of the hope that this unfortunate incident would not undermine the seriousness with which authorities treat rape cases, I still have the feeling that future rape cases would be treated with a bit of "crying wolf-ism" syndrome.
  
  The Ada case has, to a certain degree, taken the bite out of the seriousness of rape cases and this might discourage real victims of this horrendous act to shy away from reporting.
  
  So in my view, I think this Ada woman has single-handedly undermined a lot of hard work put in by activists and sympathizers who advocate for the prosecution of rapists.

  The news broke today that the accused rapist, KKD, is acquitted and discharged. Never mind Ada's fallibles, but what action is Bernice Owusuwaa and women in general going to take in the latest development in the rape of the poor 19 years old teenager and the powerful but spurious KKD.
  
  Women liberation in the advanced countries did not happen in a vacuum - the power that be (mostly men) did not wake up one day and resolved not to treat women as sex objects. Women elsewhere fought for this right. The battle cry of 'no, means no' was not won on a silver platter, and if Bernice and her kind want to behave like herds in Serangati Park, where lions devour their prey and the rest of the herd look on powerless, then the KKDs in our society will continue to chip away the little semblance of dignity left for our women.
  
  When KKD's rape case broke, I watched with utter dismay the response of our women in the country. It was as if it is farcical to bring a rape allegation against a fashion icon. The 19 years old victim had no support from any women group or organization and was left alone to lick her wounds so to speak.
  
  Here you are, Bernice, instead of commiserating with the 19-year old rape victim and lending your support, you are rather speculating on what impact would Ada's fibs have on women. Indeed, there was a cry and plea from the 19-year old woman, yet women in the country stood unconcerned,apathetic, and nonchalant just like the herd in Serangati Park. I believe there is incidence of rape everyday in our country, and the men who commit this crime are always left off the hook. Let us talk about KKD's acqquital vis-a-vis the rights of women in our country.
