Togbe Afede is a known NPP man, that being the reason why he and his nephew the former MP for Ho Central Captain Mfordwo did not see eye to eye.

We in Ho Central know this very well.

Late President Mills appointing Togbe Afede as a Member of the economic Team during the handing over was purely a request by the incoming President to use related BRAINs that he Mills knew about.

There is no EWE factor in NDC. People who speak Ewe have had their political difference from ages. Prior to Independece, the ANLO (southern Volta Region) were Nkrumah followers, whereas the EWEDOME between Ho, through HOHOE were ABLORDE (UP).

The change in the political dynamics is the RAWLINGS coming. JJR did not treat anyone differently as Nkrumah did, and as Busia did. Hence the heavy command of support for JJR.

NDC being an offshoot of JJR, it goes without saying, that "EWEs" go with the Akatamanso.

It is as simple as that.

The idea of founding a party that eventually became NDC did not come from Rawlings. That idea came from some stalwarts in the PNDC who were bent on prolonging their political power. It was a collective idea which was not started by Rawlings. Those actually behind the idea of the party saw Rawlings as the best person to lead such a party. Without him, the party would be a lightweight. The man was still popular and a vote winner. So the party formed around him as leader which many people equated with founder.

Nkrumah almost single-handedly founded the CPP, provided its ideological underpinnings, led the party and gave it direction. You cannot say the same thing about Rawlings and NDC. It is true that the banning of the CPP for so many years is affecting the party's fortunes till today. But even if the CPP hadn't been banned, the party could never be the same without the person of Nkrumah. But NDC is today trying very hard to distance itself from Rawlings who is only just being tolerated.

The analysis in this article is faulty. One can discuss the Ewe factor in NDC but a proper analysis should go beyond the petty concerns dealt with in this piece.

Having the opportunity to meet D.S Antor the man who fought Osagyefo Nkrumah to send his people back to Togoland where the Ewes come from, and read Kofi Awoonors despicable and divisive book, I humbly call on concerned Ghanaians to read from the half Ghanaian Ewe man Kofi Awoornors book which alleges that Ewes are the hegemonies of Ghana politics by giving instances of senseless military coups made in Ghana which were Ewe led and his unguided speech in parliament "I am Ewe first before a Ghanaian"

The Ewe tribe is the most aggressively ethnocentric and politically mischievous prepared to use violence and spiritual tool against opponents yet they are the first to point to another of being tribal. They never integrate freely with other tribes and feel superior when in fact they are the most inferior and less developed in Ghana.

Ewes in the Volta had over the years supported and voted P/NDC with most appointed government officials including ministers, the army, police and the civil service yet their region is the most developed.

It's about time Ewes accept the fact that we all one people one country with one destiny and if they continue voting for bad and incompetents into political power simply on tribal grounds and not on national performance on issues of dynamic social economic benefit for all , this country will certainly sink and will sink with us all in the wrecked boat.

The NDC have successfully done to ewes what democrats have done to black America. They have tag the npp with tribal bigotry with the help of Rawlings and are getting 95-100% of their votes yet getting nothing in return in terms of developments. The parallelism is so striking.

So he tells us the NDC was founded by an Ewe man and yet apart from that founder no other Ewe man or woman has been imposed on the Party as presidential candidate. He does not see any good in this. The Volta region was relegated to the back of the line in terms of development even under the founder who hailed from there and has worsened since. Not even vice presidential post. Which Ashanti founder would have made this sacrifice in order to keep the country together? Which Akan founder would have given the plum positions to other tribes and deny his or her tribal constituency development? History is very clear on this. NPP? CPP? Hell no. This history is not complicated. Even a simpleton can discern. The depth of intellectual poverty it takes to misconstrue and offer the garbage this writer puts forward is abysmal.
