Otumfuo is all powerful and trying to bully his way through this Kumawu Affair. The question is "can Otumfuo rescind his support for his alleged former girl-friend the Queen-mother and his puppet chief, Dr Sarfo? Ashantis have a saying in the good old days of the Empire that "Nana doesn't err" it is an anachronism. We live in an advanced age and Otumfuo is not God therefore he is fallible. After watching the Case I concluded that the way Ashantis settle their chieftancy affairs is open but What lies underneath stinks- clear evidence of bribery and corruption. Even the queen-mother openly admitted putting money in the envelope and giving them to the sub-chiefs and even promised some more latter. The Queen mother was flirting with the Asantehene and his P/Chiefs. But why wasn't the opponent also called to present is case? Oh I am glad I am not Ashanti.

The late Okomfo Anokye played a major role in establishing the Asante Kingdom & Empire and therefore, what is wrong with the Asantehene acknowledging this? Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the restoration of the Asante Confederacy is also important. The Asantehene was invited by the Government of the Seychelles Islands and he was right to accept the invitation. As apart from King Agyemang Prempeh, the Asantehemaa (his Mother), his Father, Brother, Asante Chiefs, Queen Mothers (including the famous Nana Yaa Asantewaa), were exiled to the Seychelles Islands. The history of the Asante Kingdom cannot be written without covering the Asante Civil War (1884-1888), which led to the downfall of the Asante Empire and allowed the British Army to march into Kumase unchallenged in 1896, publicly arrest Asantehene Prempeh (the Asantehemaa, and other relatives, Asante Chiefs & Queen Mothers, exile them to Elmina Castle, Sierra Leone and then the Seychelles Islands. A large number of these Chiefs and Queen Mothers died while living in exile and therefore, it is important that the current Asantehene acknowledges this important & sad period of our rich history. Please note I admire your knowledge about Asante history but on this point I disagree with you.
