  Government implements the visions. Think Tanks, NGO's, community organizations, etc. have leaders that don't depend on votes and have the time to do the research involved and come up with the visions that benefit the people.

  Totally agree with you on the visionaries attitude of our leaders.
  They come to power, they dont craft any solutions for the nations apart from last likening their pockets.

  Everyone has been laying the blame of the power crisis at the door step of the President John Dramani Mahama, however we forget about the private sector that has been shouting laud that they are he engine of growth. So for the past three years the private sector can not bring in generators to run, as they claim that they can do better than the state. To make matter more serious we have been told that some private power generators put off their generating sets for maintenance at this time, and the generators of been off for over a year. The engine of growth has not found out any other means of generating power, meaning that they themselves do not have an answer to the problem. Thus the current power situation is not only a failure of the government, but as well that engine of growth that could not motion in the face of the least difficulty.

  Excellent piece Gordon Asamoah. I wish the government could only understand that no matter how forward looking they think they are being over the solutions (and let's give them the benefit of the doubt and pretend we haven't heard the stories about them making capital out of the dumsor situation because they've bought up all the petrol stations to feed the generators everyone has to buy now) by the time they've found the long term solution there'll be no economy left to benefit.

  importing energy from other countries". Mr. Newlove, you apparently miss the point at this coz Ghana is already part of the West Africa Power Pool programme. And as a result government imports and exports electricity at the same time. In effect the the power pool project interconnects the power generated in the west Africa sub-region. If such power pool cannot alleviate our power needs, the is no power to buy from neighbouring countries.
