  We Ghanaians have turned the idea of 'Freedom of Speech' on its head. When we are faced with a national problem, we suddenly see that as a political opportunity to bring shame some on who ever is in government.WE spend hours on end on radio and television trying to preach how bad a government we have.
  
  If we are building at the rate it is happening in Accra for example, where is the energy coming from to light up such new developments? This problem is worsened by the demands of most of these new developments: Air conditioning all night and day,bigger refrigerators, bigger deep freezers,more electrical gadgets. Sooner or later we would have had to suffer the present predicament we are all now singing about.
  
  Instead of analysing these issues as a one-people and finding lasting solutions to them, we rather prefer go on demonstrations and name calling.

  Previous Governments did face some form of power crisis. But they managed to deal with it. We have been in the current crisis for three years and it is getting worse by the day and no solution is sight.

  You start your snap shot of Ghanaian society by dismissing a step – Dumsor vigil - by Ghanaians to improve their plight. You sir are contributing to the problem. I guess it’s only the ideas you like that are productive to making Ghana a better country. How about having enough intelligence to know that you don’t hold the patent on “ideas.” The Dumsor vigil wasn’t attended by 100% illiterate citizens.
  
  Are you saying that Ghanaians aren’t taking responsibility for playing a part in the country’s situation? This is what demonstrations like the Dumsor vigil are about. Not just playing the “blame game” as if to say they’re just making noise by pointing fingers for no good reason. Government has a purpose and right now it has the capital necessary when compared to other entities in this society.
  
  Power is a huge capital undertaking. What good is an idea if you don’t have the money? Where’s the investors. These developed nations didn’t grow on their own. The example you gave of a project still needed $75 million to implement.

So we’ve been in this together all along’’. Kufuor govt had a lot of Thermal Plant schemes on the table by the time Mills took over in 2009. Mills stopped them all and even cancelled a lot of the contracts on the pretext that they were being reviewed. Even Atuabo contract was cancelled. In 3 years 2009- 2012. Mills/Mahama slept on their job out of vindictiveness and envy. So all the TT plants delayed and the Akosombo drought has compounded the problem. Blame Mahama inabilities.

What about the generators Kufuor brought in 2007 when Akosombo dried up? It was a short term solution. Mahama has hired out the generators to Serra Leone and we are suffering.
  Now why do we suffer when all the TT plants are in place whether fuel or gas powered?
  There is no money to buy crude or gas. Why Atuabo is not functioning well is even a mystery…...
  The barges expected from Turkey in September will be gas or fuel-powered. Will there be money to buy crude or gas? In Xmas we had electricity bought from Ivory Coast. Why cant we continue. There is no money.-----
  Mahama incompetence and foolishness is ruining the country. Don’t attempt to rope in Kufuor or any other President to equalize. Noone should be deceived. Mahama must suffer alone in his do-nothingness and tomfoolery.
  
  Turkey barges will come at the time Akosombo is likely to be full of water. Akosombo will work and Mahama incompetence will be hidden. We will expose him—the easy-going Mahama who is still trying to understand why he is President.

  Yes, BlackC, "these developed nation did," in fact, "grow on their own." Where do you think they got their own electricitý, by importing it from Ghana? No! They developed hydro, then thermal, then nuclear, and finally renewable forms (solar, wind, tide, etc.) of power, and if they didn't have all the necessary natural resources within their own national boundaries to make this happen, they developed what they did have, sold the products of such development, and used the profits to develop what they needed to advance further.

Old fried brains refuse to try new ideas and not motivated by the new world vision, instead willed to retard progress. Ghana needs a bold, visionary and vibrant leadership. The old fried brains retards, corrupts and willed to remain without change, afraid to challenge their status of living.
