Your recommendations are well taken; however, as long as Ghanaians continue to import foreign goods to satisfy their needs, the dollar will continue to be in high demand, weakening the cedi in the process. Even when you do business in China they prefer the dollar instead; good article!.

All what is written is meaningless as long as our imports a credit exports. In simple terms we ghanians go for everything produced outside and offer a little for sale outside so as to earn dollars. Till we start producing enough for export our condition won't change even if we have Jess Christmas as president. E.G. Let's as a country replace most of our rice imports with properly prepared 'kokonte'.We can't live without bread from wheat. Why? So you can understand this goes beyond politics. It's sacrifice, self denial.

This article is nice. It is written in plain language and has suggested solutions. Let us try them. Good job.

And where is Duncan Williams? I thought he COMMANDED, DECREED and DECLARED that the cedi would not fall but should rise above the dollar. Hypocrisy, propaganda and bootlicking are killing Ghana, so sad.
