  Oh!! The genitive "us" cannot be used for the possessive "our". Okoampah Okwasia Kusie, the idiom in educated English usage is "Our being....."
  
  And to imagine that this fool claims to be an Associate Professor of English, teaching journalism and creative writing? Too bad for the poor students at the Nassau Community College!!

  I don't see anything wrong with saying "Us being" in the context of a pedestrian commentary to a pedestrian article on a pedestrian subject. The expression is common in the other Germanic languages too, especially among the youth, but not in formal writing.
  
  The problem with Okoampa is his "I must write an article everyday" attitude. That's why he ends up writing about bed bugs. His Persco senior may be administering one of the best private universities in Ghana and he's writing about bed bugs on ghanaweb. Different destinies, indeed.

  "Mr. Kusi Yeboah has an effective solution to the problem; and it entails getting rid of all wooden beds in these boarding schools and replacing them with iron and steel bedsteads."
  
  The problem to Mr. Kusi Yeboah's solution is that bed bugs lurk in cracks, students' luggage/boxes, lockers, behind boards, and in crevices in the walls, and in the seams of mattresses and come out at night to feed on human blood.
  
  Also, cleanliness or otherwise makes no difference to whether bed bugs set up home in students' dormitory.
