As a professed academician, you must learn to be honest than always hiding behind words, words and many words to engage in your superlative politics. You must now complete your forensic investigations into the liquidation of Nkrumah's assets, and will be shocked at the ROT. When you complete the investigations come back and tell us the state assets Kufuor sold and how much they got. Its all words you spew forth here but we know when you have exhausted your wild goose chase, the truth will hit you hard...Rawlings must be investigated by Mahama indeed when his wife says NDC has been taken over by armed robbers. Thieves investigating thieves with you Professor Lungu, than Buhari as a Referee. You only do such type of politics because you have nothing worthy to say or good suggestions to make for Ghana's economic development. Prof Lungu...you mean your people are all thieves, as we have always told you. You are learning the hard way, Professor Hindu or Lungu!

Let's hold our breaths for Buhari and keep our fingers crossed. The signs so far coming look good as far as corruption is concerned. The last time he was head of state, it didn't go quite right. Let's hope he has learned a lot from then to make it right this time around. The War Against Indiscipline (WAI) should be aimed mainly at the indiscipline that is corruption, not just people forming neat lines to enter public buses...
Our biggest problem is how to turn good intentions into reality. That is why I hope Buhari's good intentions do not fizzle out in no time.
The forces arraigned against any leader in Africa wanting to get down to the bottom of our corrupt practices are really formidable. It becomes a life and death matter. Mahama may be finding himself in a situation where he can't turn around much. It requires a leader with almost dictatorial control over his underlings to effect any proper changes. And when Mahama hinself is enmeshed in the interests that want to maintain the status quo, you know we are doomed.
But something must be done. You suggest help from global transparency organsations which Mahama must be part of - invite to help us or allow them if they come. If only he has the guts. But you should have invited Jerry "Accountability" Rawlings to also do the same - align himself with the transparency organisations, work actively with them (now that he has all the time in the world) instead of just talking of others' misdeeds and offer to put himself and his family on the line to show how accountable they have been.
"These Ghanaian successes in indigenization, industrial capacity, employment, education and sundry skills were powered by over 325 state-owned enterprises."
Hmmm, I have a feeling you should have put "successes" in quotes. They were not exactly successes to start with. But, as a good friend always reminds me when it cones to this topic, they were worthwhile beginnings out of which we were supposed to learn, improve and grow. Then the coup (you know the one I mean) put a stop to it all.
The problem is how to make state enterprises work efficiently. This is a problem even in the Western European countries that still have SOEs. Often, these SOEs are operated at far higher levels of efficiency than we see in Ghana. Yet people in Europe complain about the efficiency of these state enterprises. Divestiture does not consist of selling these enterprises at give away prices to political cronies. Often govt just reduces its holdings (and withdraws from management) and strict general laws ensure that even the private hands that take over these assets just don't do whatever they want with them.
That is not what we see in Ghana. And it is even worse as, per your report, even some of the assets sold away don't do well in private hands. How can they when they were give aways to incompetent people?
We (allow me to use your royal pronoun...) reserve our comments on the likes of Nduom who, in addition to everything, is fighting to take control of the management of the whole country...

Jato Kaleo,
Thanks so much for your comments.
We also hope that General Buhari does better by Nigeria, this time around!
With respect to Mr. Jerry "Accountability" Rawlings, we reckon he has had enough time to seek objective, "professional", assistance for Ghana, since 2000, as you infer. However, we know it will never happen for reasons that are discernible in this essay.
Regarding "successes", you may have a point. However, if we had to, we'd say "qualified successes", vice quotes.
Recall, those gains were made within 8 years of independence, as we discuss, courtesy Graphics.com.
We must end here and have noted all your other points, including "the likes of Nduom", and the virtual moving goal post for "efficiently-operating state enterprises.
We believe that those are the types of information we need to add to the record so other people who have been acutely deceived about the Nkrumah record get a chance to re-assess/re-consider.
Peace!
V/Respectfully,
Prof Lungu.

Do you know what is in the Charter of that Foundation? Open Society Foundations(Soros.org)is a sick Fondation.
Open Society Foundations(Soros.org)is one of these Foudations that wants to legalise drugs in the world.
It is a society that wants girls to marry at the age of 12. It is a society that harbors men having sex with boys. It is a society that wants children to sue their parents. It is a society that wants everybody to do whatever you and I think is unthinkable.
Prof, you are getting close to the edge in your thinking.

A GERSIS,
We must say that you have missed the road with respect to the mission discussed in this essay. It is important to stay on point.
We've offered a number of suggested organizations for a specific mission, which itself is a reappraisal from our last essay.
But you want to drag our point of view into the gutter, and in the process, take the focus where it truly belongs, on Mr. Jerry "Accountability" Rawlings and the "divestment engineers".
Who then, is actually "getting close to the edge in...thinking?
Or do you, A GERSIS, want to tell readers that everything is fine and settled with the ""divestment engineers"?
What exactly is your point?

Prof, I just delivered my scholarship application to your classroom door for approval and overview with a challenge to you to remove from your application for public dabate anything that is associated with Soro's Open Society Foundation. To include such a society in your work will mean you have not critically combed his ideas behind his Foundation with a fine comb. So your work is incomplete as far as I am cocerned.
Prof, this is a failure on your part to inform the reader about what this Open Society is all about. If you fail to tell the reader the ideas behind this Open society then it becomes my concern to let the reader know. This is what I just did and it has nothing to do with the Brave Heart, JJ.

A GERSIS,
Your "reporting" is incomplete, as is our multi-part essay.
With ours, we've always said that it is a multi-part essay. In that sense, our previous responses to you stand.
From what we have read of your writings on this forum, we still see you trying to change the focus of our essay, from your "Brave Heart, JJ".
You are entitled to your opinion, as we are, to ours.
Further, we do not hold all the answers to the problem we identify in this particular essay, nor have we pretended we do. Rather, we are here to educate, and to learn in return.
So, if you feel strongly about any of the organizations we have listed at this stage, take them out for your own purpose(s).
But let folks know what you replace them with!
In short, provide your own list of "... organizations and individuals all over the world, from Ghana, to Switzerland, to Bermuda, to Stockholm, to Bahamas, to Mauritius, to the US Virgin Islands, to Cayman Islands, to Singapore, to Gibraltar, to the United Kingdom, etc., ready(capable) to assist Ghana get to the bottom of the Rawlings/NPP divestment record."
Other wise, we are done with you on this point!
Greeting!
