  Being in power for more than six years with high commodity prices including the newly found oil, and after recklessly borrowing about 70 % of GDP in six years for dubious contracts and "oil curse" expenses, forcing the Cedi to depreciate to about 40% of its value and the administration rushing to the IMF for a bailout, the NDC government is now propagating deceitfully that it's seeking to reduce Ghana's import bill on rice, sugar, tomatoes, among other items, by encouraging the production of those commodities locally.
  
  The question Ghanaians ask is whether the NDC government thinks we believe they are serious and realistic about food production, when they have already squandered six and half years and have only 18 months or less to leave office? Agriculture, and food production in particular, is a priority that should've been started and concentrated on since 2009. Unfortunately, they said they were still looking for ways to start it. Even SADA as a policy initiative is no more on government's agenda. We know they're capable of cooking figures to deceive Ghanaians; but they can't cook figures to deceive the IMF. Can they?

  .I will suggest they make hay while the sun shines. Constructing Dams to preserve some water during rainy seasons, could help to water down the soil by pumping some of the water from the Dams during drought season.
